    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

Other Made in Japan air filters are available from good oil change shops. If in Lahore, filter house outlets has got some genuine stuff.

Any silencer wala can do it. He'll charge 1500 for both Catalytic convertors. The car's pick will be regained after that. Also, make sure you take out your oxygen sensor since it can be damaged whilst breaking it. And you may need a new oxygen sensor aswell.

Toyota workshops won't do this. I went to them and they suggested cleaning the CAT for 4k, which my father had done. It did not work one bit. As for the noise, the silencer wala will add a additional dholki. That would make the noise better.

One day or another, you have too remove it. CATs go bad abroad aswell. I did my homework bbefore I went for CAT removal.. Although I hhad to face the checklight issue which turned out to be a faulty O2 sensor which had made my CAT go bad aswell. Kabuli CAT's+O2sensors come for 8-10k.

Hi everyone, I just bought a vitz 2008 in excellent condition. I need help and guidance in replacement of manual side mirrors to electronic ones. I also want to upgrade to meter with RPM and can I get Push start installed in it. Please do share the cost, shop in Rawalpindi and also suggest weather these upgrades have any problem later on or work just fine. Thanks vitz club members

Your car would become sluggish. The pick would decrease and the fuel economy would decrease aswell.

    Horn not working:
Just want to share a humorous experience. I hv Vitz 1F model 2010 which I bought in Dec 2012 as fresh import with 26000 km on odo. Since then I hv regularly changed Engine oil, air and oil filters. Cabin filter is changed when summer starts. I hv never taken it for any tuning etc as the car is trouble free and has given me excellent performance and I hv only driven it 11000 km (total 37000 km on odo now).
Last week my horn was sometimes working and sometimes not so I took it to my old electrician. He checked all the fuses located near the battery and under the glove compartment with his tester and all were working. Next he removed the front bumper cover and checked the horn by attaching to the battery directly. It was also working. Next he checked the horn terminals from the side of the steering wheel. They were fine also. Next he searched for the horn relay which was found in the fuse box but he could not check it as it was embedded in a match box size plastic box inside the fuse box. But the relay was sometimes working and sometimes not. So he asked me to take it to Toyota for the change of that part/circuit containing horn relay. BY NOW WE HAD SPENT 2 HOURS in diagnosis and I was thinking that Toyota ppl may ask anything from 3-8000 Rs. For that part and it would be quite a burden on my pocket for a horn. As a last resort he pulled out all the fuses and there he caught the culprit. The horn fuse was burnt but underneath that a wire was placed to bypass that fuse which over the time was also slightly burnt and so it was sometimes passing the current and sometimes not. When the electrician checked it with his tester, the low voltage passed and he was satisfied that its working but on pressing the horn, voltage being high would not pass.
Solution: change of fuse worth Rs. 10/= :-)
Lesson: ALWAYS PULL OUT THE FUSES TO CHECK THEM.
