    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

The recommended oil for 1KR-FE engine is 0W20. But due to hot weather in Pakistan, use 0W30 (you can find this grade in Zic). Ensure that it is API SN / ILSAC GF-5 for gasoline engines. Zinc and phosphorus in oil should be not more than 800 ppm.

You can also use 5W30. But 0W30 is better. If your vehicle has done 100,000 KM, then you may use 5W30 year round.

"5W20 and 5W30 can also be used if 0W20 is not available. But should be shifted back to 0W20 at the earliest". This is what the manufacturer says about Vitz 1.0 with 1KR-FE engine.
Considering the weather here in Pakistan, 0W30 is most suitable instead of 0W20.
5W30 can be used year round if mileage is around or above 100,000. OR the vehicle is driven like a racing car or for towing.

Do you have 1000cc one? If yes then mine also does this... Someone told me that its the belt which makes this noise... He was some mechanical engineer and said that i took my car to UET lab where i work and checked if belt was lose with the high tech equipment and said that it was lose... Local mechanics kept telling him that it was tight bit in real it was lil bit loose. He said this to me... Now i dont know if he is rite or not. Mine also does this but when engine is cool and when AC is turned on.

Default Toyota vitz parts in Rwp? (steering cross joint)

I am based in Rwp and my toyota vitz 08 model steering cross joint broke yesterday. Does anyone have a contact (preferably phone #) of a shop in Sultan-Ka-Khoo or Mithu-Khan-Ahaata Saddar that deals with Vitz parts ?

That's the oil viscosity chart with regards to ambient (outside) temperature. Here you can see that 0W20 is highlighted indicating that 0W20 is recommended for 1kr-fe engine.

you are supposed to just tug at the belt with your finger and note how much you can pull it, how many mm, i don't remember the value, but it is that simple to test. i wonder why he needed a lab for such a simple task

    Much expensive.
I am using Total Quartz 9000 5w 30 its 3.25 Litres Costs me around 2200 and after including filters it costs Rs. 2700 - 3000 in Total. And i am satisfied Alhumdulillah. If u use Liqui Moly a famous, good and expensive Brand then it will cost u in Total Rs. 4200 - 4500 and then nothing will be better than this. So TOYOTA or any 3S is expensive for oil change service.

Total quartz 9000 (full synthetic oil) is an excellent oil. It's compatible to Liqu Moly standards.

As you have said, the same can be measured with a belt tensioner tool meant for this purpose.
