    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

Buy Michelin or Bridgestone. Ensue that they are fresh ( not more that 6 months old). The manufacturing date can be read on the tyre side wall.

Yes Bro, U are wrong. We need different gears to move the car at some speed at different levels. And plz study Vitz gears on any google link. I recommend Wikipedia for easy referance.

he is right bro, we don't need different gears but different ratio's to keep the engine in optimal torque or economy range according to load. cvt doesn't have infinite ratios(from a mechanical engineer's point of view as it would be an IVT than and would be very costly to build) but its single gear(driven by belts and pulleys that change ratio according to hydraulic pressure applied by tcu) can have varying ratios. to explain cvt in layman's terms think of two gears, one has a fixed size while other is shaped like a cone. the fixed size one can move across the cone which varies in size(ratios) smoothly while in normal tranny 4 or 5 gears are cut into fixed sizes. cvt to conventional tranny's what ramps are to stairs. and about different gear ratios that we feel, manufacturer programs them in tcu because the drivers of cvt complain that it is too numb(smooth) and also while accelerating the engine may rev at a single speed(like at 2k constantly from 40kph to 80kph), it sounds annoying like a boat accelerating(also called droning).

Not sure what I am using but I will get my brakes checked. Which brake pads should be ideal for Vitz 2005 I mean if I don't want genuine as they might be expensive what comes second and third after the original/genuine brake pads?

Well as Usman mentioned above that CVT is basically just one gear. The concept of CVT, ideally, is having unlimited ratios. But due to real world limitation (length of rods overlapping each other) there can be limited amount of ratios. But saying 4 gears is completely wrong or even 4 ratios. I think you should watch CVT concept videos on You Tube because simple text can be really hard and boring to understand CVT.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank You!

Guys! I need guidance regarding Engine Oil. I've been told, in the past, that it should be 5W-30. Some people say that it depends on the external temperature. Some people have even that stated that 0W-30 is the ideal and we should follow it. I'm using TOYOTA JAPANESE TIN WALA! . Last time couldn't find 5W-30 on filter house so went for 10W-30 instead. This time I'm planning to get it done from Toyota Airport. I know they're expensive but at least they've got 5W-30. Now please guide me. Should I go for 5W-30 this time or 0W-30. Car mileage is 57,000 KM.

Stick to 5w-30. that is recommended, and over all best for our model engines. Dnt go for Suni Sunaayi baat.
