    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

Can anyone know the error code of P1603 of Toyota Vitz. During driving when i applied brakes or when car is in lower RPM with AC ON my car is stop in between road and check engine light comes on. when i diagnose my car with OBD 2 device it shows P1603 and P1605 Error Codes. Previously there is no error code is recorded in ECU. Can anyone help me on this?

One more thing is there any difference between Knock Sensor or O2 Sensor?

    P1603 Code - General
    TCU Communication Error

OBD-II code P1603 indicates an issue with TCU communication.

There are communications that exist between the engine control module, or ECM, and the transaxle control module, or TCM. This communication is done through a control area network, or CAN. With the communication of the CAN, an independent pin and wiring is needed to receive a signal that includes sensor information from the ECM. The more information there is to communicate, the more wiring that is needed. When it comes to CAN communication, all of the information communicated is done alone control modules like the ECM and TCM using CAN lines. When there is a problem with these lines, the ECM will detect the problem and store a P1603 trouble code; the storing of the trouble code is what causes the SES or check engine light to illuminate on the dash.

Possible causes of trouble code P1603 include:

    Faulty transaxle control module (TCM)
    Faulty engine control module (ECM)
Harness running from the TCM to the ECM has a short
There is a poor electrical connection between the TCM and ECM
Diagnosing the exact cause of the problem should always begin with a visual inspection that could reveal bad wiring, loose connections, or damaged parts. From there, it is a matter of running down the list to determine what needs to be replaced. In general, a bad ECM will cause a loss of power, poor fuel economy, and stalling engine. While a bad TCM will have more prevalent transaxle issues like erratic shifting.

My Car Started Knocking badly. Using Hi-Octane approximate regularly. Fuel Mileage is well. Just knocking issue from few days.
ECU Got Scanned, all sensors are well Alhumdulillah. But Mechanic said its Knock Sensor needs Service or Replacement. Open kr k pata chalay ga.
I was on my way to Office. Tomorrow i will get it checked InshAllah. Any guidelines regarding Knocking issues will be appreciated. My car has clocked 98000 kms on odo. CVT Oil was changed since 18000 kms before. All cares are properly maintained and took care of.
Spark Plugs also changed with original ones Two months back.

No need to do nothing. Regularly use hi octane. Using once won't eliminate knocking ... use it contineously. I eliminated knocking on my 06 vitz 160k driven by this method. There is nothing wrong with your car and don't believe anyone.

Yes try it. And when you use regular petrol try STP octane booster with it.

    2006 and 2012.
2012 has a better chubby look, less noisy than 2006, better looking interior.

Use 40/70 ratio. 40 being high octane and 70 regular.

I Totally Agree with Nabeel, their is nothing wrong with you car, Fuel is the culprit here, sometimes Hi-Octane is available most of the times it is not. I feel Vitz gives a good feedback about petrol. so from all my experience i found Total Petrol to be good.

when i bought my vitz it used to vibrate when i would increase the fan speed as if current is not enough for the car, i did nothing i just maintained the car started using High Octane and now get petrol from selected Petrol Pumps, now no vibrations on fanspeed.

it some times vibrate for few seconds when i switch it to P or N after drive but quickly stops vibrating.

Immediately go to Toyota 3s. They will scan your car and tell you the exact error code.
And according to your mileage regularly use hi octane.

Yes, Nabeel u are right. Lastly i was feeling a knocking issue despite of using high octane on and off. But now i am using full tanks of Hi octane. No mixing. The knocking is gone. B.coz ECU Scan was showing every sensor working properly. Alhumdulillah. Thanx for your opinion about not opening Knock Sensor. Really appreciated. I am the regular member of this Club, but due to job busy routine, Not participating on regularly basis. like before in 2013-2014. Keep the good work going. Cheers..

Every Vitz Gen has its own Uniqueness. 1st Gen Was most stronger, 4 Cylinder, Most Strong body ever. Nice Shape with lovely Interior.
2006, my own beloved. Sounds like a lion roar (people thinks noisey), Best Interior with white + sea green lights in speedometer, door Panels, Seats. Good driving response, Aggressive and Bold Exterior particularly Bold Lights and Bumpers.
2011-onwards, Looks are Good exterior includes rear Chrome Panel, thats executive looking. Interior is good Except Classical Speedometer (just my opinion, people may like), Rear lights are shorter (like 660 cc), Improved Engine tuning for better pick and mileage and lesser engine noise. More Aerodynamics in exterior is a plus point, Front look is smiley. Rear Bumper is stylish. In Short all vitz are Masterpiece of their time yaro. Lets Enjoy this Romantic Car. Every time u learn a new function in this marvellous car.
Never underEstimate anyone. Might be a charade has a v8 in his heart.
