    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

    The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    Today I made a call to Toyota Defence Motors. They quoted me Rs. 1,450 for the cvt oil change. However, the guy who talked to me about it was really skeptical and told me that we would do it on your request and since its an old car. After oil change, the gear's behavior might change and we will do only on your requested.

    By talking to him I realized that any thing which happens would not be their fault. This is really getting me confused as to whether should I go for it or keep dirving they way it is. Any suggestions or personal experience would be of immense help. Hoping for some answers by our experts.

    I am no expert but as far as personal experience goes, I got my vitz 2009 CVT fluid changed almost 8 months ago. Its a daily runner doing 30-40 km daily and I have found no issue after the change. Actually it had no issue in transmission before the change either but i got it changed as saw some people recommending a change after 40k km of running.

    I suppose Toyota Defence you mean the showroom located on Korangi road. I also found their advice confusing and unprofessional so never got anything done through them. They also suggested removal of Cat Converter. in my experience these Toyota authorized workshops generally try to sell you the services that you don't need (like injector cleaner every 5k km).

    In the end I got the CVT oil changed by a small workshop suggested by a Pakwheels member. They got the job done in around Rs 1000 including new seal. They offered to wash the oil filter with petrol but I refused as I was not sure if the residue can harm the new CVT fluid.

    The workshop was located near Kashmir road but I can't recall the name at the moment.

    This is what I don't know.
    @saadkhan35

    I am in Karachi
    @tahir.hashmi

    Kindly try and recall their name or number or their shop name. However, the Toyota Defence motors gave a detailed response which other Toyota dealers didn't. Also please let me know which method was performed when you got your CVT oil changed.

    Engine Oil entering the combustion chamber.

    What viscosity-type engine oil you are using?

    Respected Pakwheelers,

    My Vitz 2006 is slowly developing a shocks problem. Its front left tire hits fender upon hitting pits on road. The problem intensifies with heavier passengers. Kindly help in following:
    1) What are the plausible solutions? Are these repairables ? or Do i have to change them?
    2) Any reliable technician in Islamabad to get the issue fixed in optimum costs? Any place where I can get my struts/shocks evaluated?
    3) How much is the estimated cost for new shocks/struts?
    4) Any other recommendation?

    Thanks in advance

    The problem could be due to many reasons.
    1. Axles
    2. Ball joints
    3. Shocks
    4. Brake calipers

    Go to Toyota 3s. They will diagnose the problem.
    If you need parts, all of the parts can be found new from any car markets or used from scrap market.

    for past two days my Vitz 2010 has been giving me wierd electrical problem, the internal meter lights flicker, it leads to power steering getting hard and at times stereo resets, this all happen on either idle or on low rpm, the moment i press the accelerator it is fine, i have gotten the alternator checked its fine, the battery is new (dry battery, three months old) and fine. I think it is some grounding issue due to recent rains, can someone guide me on how to fix this problem?
