    Default Toyota Vitz Owners/Fan Club

    The purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a Toyota Vitz Owners Club in different cities of Pakistan. As we all know that Vitz has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The criteria to join the club would be to own a Vitz and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in Karachi, so I can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest, a formal charter / by-laws would be issued with club rules and regulation as well as its mission statement. The club would operate under the same rules & conditions as other international car clubs. To take this project off the ground, I believe 10 people in each city would be the minimum requirement. If anyone from Karachi is interested in being a part of this club, please email me at danyal1@hotmail.com. Pakwheelers from other cities can share their email addresses under this post if they are willing to take the lead for their respective cities. I hope to this see become a success someday and a model for other to follow. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!!

    guyz.....honestly my CAT was not giving me any problems.....but then....i know a person who got both the CAT's out and the last time i heard, his car had done 620 km with 2 fuel bars still remaining.....that means an avg of 100km per fuel bar......that would mean 800 km in a tank......sounds pretty unbelievable.....so thought why not give it a try myself .......performance ke baray mein i'm still not sure.....thora ziyada time guzrayga to i'll be able to say anything for sure inshaAllah.......halkiiiii si sound aa rahi hai but almost unnoticeable.......but ager mileage waqai itni improve ho jati hai to mein ne sound ko kia kerna hai .....yaar meray se bari ghalti hui i forgot to take pics while i was getting the first one out......it's basically in the body jahan o2 sensor fit hota hai.....ussay bhi tor ke nikala tha.....ceramic ki jali si thi......that's the first one i got out......silencer wala parsoun nikalwaya hai......

    @Gorkan
    the only problem that i can see after removal of CAT is the sound. that too only when the revs are up. in normal running there is no change of sound. i got the CAT removed from the 1st (front) dholki. the CAT in the rear is still in.
    secondly i did not break the CAT. infact the SILENCER WALA just replaced the dholki with a straight pipe. the dholki is with me with the CAT intact. i can place it back whenever i want. my question for the gurus is that i hope i have not done something wrong.........
    if yes plz let me know @storm and @thecommunicator

    Well adnan.....mujhe itna to nahi pata gariyoun ka jitna storm ya doosroun ko hai but in my humble opinion CAT is just a pain in the neck.....it's better to get it out whenever u can.....and yes.....the noise is there only on high revs.....idle mein koi additional noise nahi hai.....and well aik CAT hai choti dholki mein jo ke mein ne parsoun nikalwaya hai......jo mein ne pehlay nikalwaya tha uskay liye 4-5 cheezein utarni perti hein.....bonnut khol ke.......aik metal ka structure hai jiskay aik konay mein O2 sensor fitt hota hai.....uss metal body ko dismantle ker ke nikaltay hain.....i so much wish i had taken the photographs.......

    AoA All, I have Vitz 2002 which is with me for last 10 months. For last 2 months it started to consume fuel and doing about 10 km/l without a/c.

    Plugs, Air Filter, oil and oil filter all are new.

    Recently, i have noticed that car is giving minor vibrations when put on brakes on signals.

    I don't know if the problem is in MAF, CAT, O2, Throtle or something else.

    Can someone guide me on this? or someone can refer me to any good mechanic/workshop in Lahore?

    is there any sensor after the CAT in vitz. i was worried because removing the cat may give false reading to a sensor that comes after the CAT in the exhaust path

    secondly, sombody told me that the exhaust valves in these cars are designed to operate with the back pressure generated by the CAT, so getting it removed can have an adverse affect on the engine's exhaust valves.

    someone who has removed the cat like 1 to 2 years ago, please do share your experience.

    well.....gorkan.....there definitely is a sensor in the exhaust after the CAT but the fuel consumption has actually improved in cases where people got this CAT out......i don't exactly know the explanation for this but my CAT was choked.....and i'm sure they wouldn't have designed anything around a choked CAT.....so something has to be done about the choked CAT

    first fuel bar down @ 75.6 km......now that i'm monitoring it myself......looks like the previous figures i quoted were a little exagerrated.....but there definitely is an improvement......before either of the CAT was removed....it was giving me 60km per fuel bar

    @all:

    I just bought a vitz and i am happy with my car, following are some pictures of my car. I still need to take my car for a tune up....Its Pending!

    Questions:

    1. I am satisfied with my cars initial pick up....My fuel economy is not good at all, i am getting about 11/litre.
    2. On the motorway the car goes to 130 with O/D off; with O/D on, it barely does 115; Is it Normal?
    3. Do you guys recommend removing the CAT's from the car?
    4. I read that you guys are mentioning some change in sound, can you please explain that?
    5. Do you guys recommend installing an after market air intake in Vitz; if not, why not?

    Thanks for your help in advance!

    @salman
    welcome to the club.

    1. car needs a "once over", contact zubair on 03009193634, he's behind fire brigade. get ALL fluids & ALL filters chantged for GENUINE parts, replace plugs, check feul filter & belts and service the throttle body. then you'll KNOW your car is ok.
    2. with the overdrive off you are limited to 3 gears, when on you have 4
    3. YES, but only if it is blocked
    4. please note that if the work is done correctly there will be no increase in noise when the cat is removed. the people who complain about noise are those who didn't get the job done correctly.
    5. not at all, they offer nothing in terms of power for the tiny engine, and will suck hot air form the engine bay.

    somebody, earlier on this thread mentioned putting a resonator in place of CAT. i think that would solve the problem of sound that you were experiencing, but i don't know the details of exactly what kind of device it is.
