Exclamation Vitz 2005 - battery consumption in parked car

    Dear All,

I am using Vitz 2005. It is really a wonderful car. However, I have encountered the following problem:

I use my car occasionally and normally it remains parked at my home. Just before this latest winter season began I changed my car battery as that battery was weakened. I placed OSAKA 60amp battery in it. I thought that I would give me some relief from tension to keep car running everyday but unfortunately it didn?t happen. Since I placed this battery I had to have a ride every alternate day (i.e. within 48 hours of previous ride) otherwise car refuses to start L

Possible reasons that click in my mind are as follows:

Poor quality battery that is discharged even by clock (timer) in parked car.
Poor quality generator that do not charge battery properly.
Plugs need service / tuning as almost a year have been passed since I got plugs change. However, I drove only 3,000 KM in last year therefore I think that plugs are not expired yet.

Kindly identify the reason and it?s solution that you think appropriate in these circumstances.

A better way of cornerign the problem, either in the battery or in the car.

Ask some electrician to check for some possible short circuits in the vehicle. It may be "leaking" some current due to a short circuit.

    @ murtazee,

Have you found any solution for this issue ?

I think i should visit electrician as suggested by IsbCap to check possible current leakage.

Did you get any work done on the key / ignition? In original setting, the key wont come out. But if the person has not fitted it properly, the key would come out without turning it OFF completely...

Make sure you are completely turning OFF the car and not just doing it "almost" completely.. This can leave some current leaking..
