Default Suzuki Swift vs Vitz, which one to buy?

Dear all, I know this is an old topic but I need a recent take on this as I am on the verge of buying one. Would appreciate your comments/ suggestions. Thanks.

    1. Suzuki Swift 2013 model, 1300cc, Automatic Transmission
    2. New Car
    3. Not much safety features
    4. I have heard that a Japanese swift is better, but the dealers say that it's not imported by the company so any available one would be reconditioned....
    5. Worth Rs 13,98,000
    6. Petrol consumption???????
    7. Resale value???????

    1. Toyota Vitz, 1300cc, Automatic Transmission (I have seen a 2011 model but then people say that latest the version the more damaged the car would be)
    2. Being reconditioned one can never be sure as to how much it had been initially damaged + mileage run
    3. Good interior + safety features (but then being reconditioned it's not necessary e.g: that the air bags would work at the 11th hour or not)
    4. I have heard that the tyers etc. of vitz need to be changed.
    5. Spending around 12 lac on 2009 model & 14 lac on 2011 model??? How wise is this???
    6. Petrol consumption?????????
    7. Resale value of 1000cc is very good but of 1300cc is not good.

    Baqai bhai how are you!!
I & Baqai bhai both were at same place few months back, baqai bhai got vitz & i bought new swift 2013 DLX manual..
& trust me m quite happy with it but you have to compromise on few things..

    1. Swift/Vitz both have almost same price, but swift would be "0" meter, & vitz would be atleast 30-40k driven car, but bult quality of vitz is far better, swift is also kool, so baqai bhai said to me "virgin desi girl is far better than a banged up sexy english girl"

    2. buy swift & start enjoying as there would be no prob for atleast 2-3 years no kharcha at all, but in case of vitz you have to change, tires, engine oil, transmission oil, pluggs etc etc.. more kharcha, cost would be more than swift.

    3. vitz 1000cc avg is 10-11kmpl, my swift giving 12-13kmpl avg.

    4. after 5 years vitz would be 7-8years old car with more than 120k on odo would have lesser resale, & swift would be 5years old with some 80k on odo better resale.

    5. parts of imported cars are always expensive, & stolen v.frequently, but in case if swift parts are cheaper & are not stolen frequently..

In My opinion SWIFT is better option, with compromise on built quality & some safety features like airbags.
    lets see what experts say..

Never been a fan of Automatic transmission system hence will have always recommended manual. More control + Better mileage

Coz here are so many Private and Authorised workshops in Lahore to service and maintain the (JDMs) Vitz on lower costs also. And in My opinion and by my experience there is no comparison between the same capacity JDM cars and local Cars. JDMs are always some steps Ahead from locals. The durability Performance and luxury in JDM car is never ever achieved by any locally manufactured Car. I can proove with examples from history and current scenarios. Always JDM cars got previlige at local cars. So a good condition (less used) Vitz is much much better than a local Swift. Its a charm to have a good Vitz . . . Bcoz its not just a caaaarrrrrrr . . .
In Hatchback history Charade was a hot cake. Today is only vitz... In Germany Vitz is being sold under the name Daihatsu Charade. Vitz is a small car with Big Heart.
No maintenance issue for Vitz but what do you plan to do once that clogged Catalytic converter has to changed?
Which capacity of comparison do you mean? Seating or Engine?
In WHAT way is JDM a step ahead of local cars? Please enlighten me about the 'step'
Durability may be yes because of the better materials used abroad as compared to Pakistan
Performance, you are kidding right? how can you compare a zero meter car with a meter tampered JDM car on performance?
Luxury?! Again enlighten me please se to HOW the vitz has more luxury than the PKDM Swift.. Oh, ill hear the same phrase again 8 airbags which you are not even sure that will work upon impact
Yes please prove some scenarios...go ahead and show some pictures of an accided Swift and a showroom parked Vitz and compare them on safety features
Yes its not a car, its a cake

Come up with a solid examples with proof next time you are asked to compare cars. Just bec 'its not a carrrrrrr' is not a reason to buy vitz

Hey thanks Yawar for your kind reply...No you are not at all late because after making my self convinced through this thread that i have to go for swift....i got stuck in whether to go for a manual or an automatic one... & then this led to further discussion...since you are currently online it would be great if you could squeeze some time to read my discussion on the following thread.

    https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/whe...kistan-today-5

It would be great if you could also give me your final take after reading my concerns there. I just have to make my mind & can get the car tomorrow...i have already carried out the showrooms research & all...i have been told that the 2014 model of swift is not coming with much change + the price escalation is also expected so i'm just at it... but just don't know WHY i'm having second thoughts.....

    Regards,
    Sahar

I would suggest going for the DLX M/T since it would give better mileage. I would STRONLY recommend NOT to get the Navigation system. Save that 50k to install an aftermarket Kenwood/Pioneer DVD after market unit. And it would cost cheaper too.
Rest proper maintenance of the car won't lead to any problems like water in the spare tire place in the trunk
If you have more questions, you can ask them here...no problem
And about making the decision, Sir you will have to make the decision yourself. Ride any car you want and judge it yourself.

Our family is JDM fan from the beginning we kept corolla 86,Nissan sunny 92,Sunny 98, Vitz 2004 (1.0) ,Vitz 2006 (1.3),Passo 2007 (1.0)
and i drove almost every category of Vitz being imported to Pakistan 1.0,1.3,1.3 RS,1.5 ,1.5 RS (part time import business)
Right now I am Owner of SWIFT DX for almost two years.
I guess my opinion would be unbiased

VITZ no doubt excellent car with amazing build quality and safety features but most of the people dont realize that buying imported car
    is gamble

    Scenario:

Importer search for cars for the following grades R,2.5,3 cost ($3000-$4000) Mileage >120,000 km ,normally damaged, weak suspension
After clearance from PORT it goes to painter/mechanic for the fix
Check for the DVD if it's expensive just replace it with china mall
Check for the Tires if in good condition just replace it with scrap
    Meter reverse
Adobe Photoshop Zindabad (New Auction Report)
    Ready for Showroom or Investor

Car which cost them around 10.0 lacs and consumers are ready to pay 12 lacs

Now consider low mileage 2010 model 1.0 ltr 4.5 grade Vitz having auction sold price($8000 - $9000) scratch less after clearance it should be around 14 lacs and it would be nightmare for investor/importer because no one would pay that much amount + their profit

    Conclusion
VITZ only feasible to buy if you are 100% sure that you paying the right amount and it worth and you obtained the valid history of the vehicle.

    Why I opted for Swift

Before Swift I was riding Passo 1.0 ltr and It gave me hard time fixing steering assembly, engine mounting and other suspension issues
Although interior/exterior of the car was excellent but i was perfectionist and couldn't compromise and mechanical issue.
But i must say Passo drive is excellent and its road grip and brakes are impressive.
No i decided for brand new.

    Feedback for the following

    Vitz 1.5 RS
Fun to drive, excellent road grip, sporty suspension,no ground clearance issues and it's kerb weight is more than standard model.

    Vitz 1.3 RS
Fun to drive, excellent road grip, sporty suspension, less ground clearance issues but slightly underpowered for heavier body.

    Vitz 1.0
    Comfortable drive suitable for city/long driving,noisy engine,good brakes,excellent AC,slightly underpowered uphill

    Vitz 1.3
Comfortable drive suitable for city/long driving, smooth engine, good brakes, excellent AC and power is balanced

    Swift
Being Local assembled it has quality issues but can be avoided

In last two years i drove around 32000 km and if you ask me to compare what is different from when it was zero meter

1- Air intake sound changes may be adjustments is required or loosening with throttle body.
2- Dashboard loosing sound (rattling) on bumpy roads
3- I must say brakes perform 2-5 % less than before may be pads are getting older.
    4- Back door plastic rattles.

All these issues are non mechanical and can be avoided.

Vitz VS Swift Why Vitz is champion.

    Brakes no comparison
    Seats no comparison

I must say vitz is superior for the following (seats, brakes, dashboard, paint)

Vitz VS Swift Why Swift is champion.

Because its brand new and compete peace of mind for 3-4 years

    Thanks

Consider the reliability index of the car (http://www.reliabilityindex.com)
Suzuki Swift vs Vitz which one to buy? -1576526

Vitz (Yaris) is twice as much reliable , has lower repair cost (in US), Runs like a Swiss Watch (keeps going)

Swift will not suit most of the people because it falls into 1.6L category so you have to pay registration and token taxes of higher than Vitz. And fuel average of Swift is not good as compare to Vitz.

This comparison has been done hundreds of times on this forum.. maybe you should use search option and find
countless threads in which you can find a lot of information regarding this topic.
Plus if you bothered to read forum rules its mentioned there that "digging" is not allowed .
