For Tyres I Would Suggest You Continental Or Mitchellen As Yokohuma Are Not Availble Easily.

This car goes well with 15 " Rims and Michelin tyres... Do not buy Chinese rims... Invest some more and buy branded rims... They will not damage anything and will actually better the feel of the car..

    Cheers...

Look into getting genuine wheels meant for the car. If you are unable to find RS wheels, go for 2003-2007 Toyota Corolla Altis rims. Once hooked up with yokos with a calculated approach you will be left with a reliable set of wheels capable of handling loads. As a plus: altis rims are toyo jdm branded ones which means lightweight: less stress on your suspension. AVOID local cheapo rims. Go factory standard as you would with the rest of the car.
Also do care to get OEM toyota wheel bolts. Anti-seize them for a good finish worth a couple of years.

    Hello,

I recently got new tyres for My Toyota Vitz 2009. Previously, they were 165/70/r14.

I replaced them with Michelin Energy 185/70/r14.

Basically after the change my car requires more throttle when it approaches 100km/h and at 120km/h smell of a rubber comes. Drive has become heavy.

NOTE: I haven't changed the stepheny(rim).. its the same steel black colored.

Can anyone suggest, how to fix this.

    Regards,

    Junaid

The tyres are bigger than recommended which is 185 65 r14 or 185 60 r 14 that's why the drive has got heavier and about smell it might be hitting a body part because which tyres are heating up and giving that smell u should have it checked as this is dangerous.

A tyre wala said me that woh tyre jb change hotay hain tu more grip k liye tyre size increase kartay hain. I was like WTF!!!!!!!!!! Tu factory walon nay driver's side pe notice regarding tyre q lagaya hai ? Please members tell me the optimum size for Vitz ? According to the Current Tyre which is default from Japan Was Dunlop EnergySaver 185/65/r14 i think.

It depends in some countries vitz geniune size is 165 70 r 14 and in some its 185 60 r 15 so in Pakistan we prefer 185 65 r14.
