Car Is Question will Be Using 4 Wire Heated O2 Sensor......Flange Type (I Guess) But There Also Comes Thread Type.......Even Universal O2 Sensors Works Fine ....Just make Sure The Fitting Matches ...There Are Aftermarket Universal NGK/Denso's O2's Available On Ebay/Amazon.....If You Have Anyone Coming From Abroad...

Yeah, it has 4-wires. This is the post-cat O2 sensor I think:

Just wanted to know if there's no issue in using a universal O2 Sensor (be it NGK/Denso), crimping won't really be an issue for me.

the post cat in all car is an O2 sensor, the pre cat can be an AFR sensor or an O2 sensor depending on the car. If you are going to purchase universal items for a japanese car or any system that originally used japanese items. Then only use Denso/NTK items. Using Bosch, Honeywell etc can result in error.

I think the pre cat on mine is an AFR: ToyoDIY.com

How does one check (or tune?) if the AFR is working correctly or not. For O2 I know it should be switching between 0.1V - 0.9V (rapidly) @ normal operating temperature.

The AFR Sensor Working Range Is 0-3.3V Mostly

    Below 3.3v = RICH

    Above 3.3V = LEAN

It May Vary So Better Check With Engine Manual 1st....!

Its Operating Temp Are Above 650 Degrees Celsius So Its Heater Is Also Precisely Controlled By ECM

@Xulfiqar @SER_GTR Thanks for the replies, appreciate it. I have tried a lot but can't get a hold of the service manual for Axio but I do have its user manual, though it mostly has the general info i.e. oil specs, quantity etc.

    AOA,

I simply dont agree with whats being said here, I bought 2003 Vitz back in 2006. Odo at that time was 46,000kms.
Since then its being used in Pakistan, on super petrol that is available locally (adulterated as PW's say).
Car is maintained by Toyota Garden, the odo is 116,000kms we never had the cat choked.

Dont spoil you car buy taking out Cat Convertor, take it to 3S dealership for tuneup and happy motoring.

Are you sure there's a cat present in your car?

There are high chances the previous owner might've removed it.
