    Exclamation Vitz Ground Clearance Issue - Should I change tyres?

    Hello all,

    I purchased a Vitz 2010 a few days ago, immediately I noticed there's a ground clearance issue with the car where the car hits from the bottom with almost every speed breaker. I am concerned if some of this is due to my tyre size that came with the car.

    Right now the car has 165/70 R14. Should I consider upgrading do a different size if it would raise the height of the car a little bit?

    Your advice would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

    I have Vitz 2009 model. I had the same problem. I went for putting spacer in the rear shock. It was raise up to 3 inches and my life was easy. Total expense was about rs. 3000. Way less than going for the 15 inches rims and tyres. The tyres are stock.

    Thanks for the response. Did that issue harden your suspension or make the car uneven on faster speeds? Or bounce on uneven roads?

    spacer's make the car look hideous, believe me. upgrade the tyres instead, go for a somewhat bigger size.

    Change tyres to 185/70/14 along with 1" spacer on rear.

    Not such issues. Good on Road. Advantage is no more bumping on speed breakers with even four adult at the back

    Thanks, but how will adding thicker tyres help when profile is the same? I'm still a newbie at this so don't mind me asking. Adding 1" spacer sounds resonable I think, do you recommend a type? Alumunium Vs Rubber?

    I agree, i've added spacers in the past in my Alto, it ruins everything. What size of tyres would you recommend?

    yes and the stability is also ruined, I had the same problem but then I changed the wheels to 15's, you should do the same. the car will hit extra high jumps only, that too can be avoided by going over them in a zig-zag fashion.

    Bro's if im not wrong standard size recommended for vitz is 165R14

    Increasing the tyre and rims size helps a lot ground clearance improves

    Spacers = stupid ugly car IMO

    What about your mileage? I heard it reduces to 11 from 15 if you put tyres that thick, is that the case for you too?

    @Adnan959
    I get constant 13-14 with ac in local routes
    On long routes depending upon driving style 15-16.5 km/l

    Im more than happy with mileage as im a daily runner of abt 60+ km
    If mileage wasnt good i would hv sold this vitz by now

    U can go for 185 tyre size with 15"

    For vitz in 15 inch rims 185 65 R15 is the size which is normally used.

    Salam all;

    Hey was reading a few posts as i am currently having a few problems with my vitz which i bought just a month back. First there is a lot of ground clearence issues and i want to avoid spacers so which size of tyres or rims should i go for. Secondly my vitz economy is round about 12 km/L how to improve that. Third and foremost its engine is rather noisy.
    Some guidance on such paticular issues would be highly appreciated.
