    Default Vitz 2008 Transmission Problem

    Hi PWS

yesterday i went to PirSohawa with friends we were 4 people inside the car. Usually i never get stuck in the heights of pir sohawa but yesterday my car suddenly stopped at last height towards Monal then the car went through at second session.
while coming back from monal at straight road when i press the accelerator fully, car takes too much time to shift gear and it also gives a high sound but taking much time to increase speed.
i have made the following maintenance work when i purchased

at 49000 kms, Transmission oil i.e CVT,engine oil+filter air filters
*I have changed oil+ filter three times since i bought the car
currently the car's mileage is 59500

Kindly help me in this regard . Because every local mechanic gives me different suggestions so i dont know whether to examine the car from Toyota or some other.

    Your response will be appreciated
    Thankyou

Do get it scanned by Toyota. Some sensor could be malfunctioning and try a general tune up as well

first of all check two basic things

    1. your car is not cng driven ... may be the previous owner removed it after using it
    2. whether you replaced the correct fluid ..... normally mechanics and oil traders dont know the difference between a cvt and automatic gear box .... if they have replaced automatic oil instead of cvt oil then i am afraid your gear will be a guest of few days.
    3. drive the car on normal road and then check the difference in behaviour of car .

if you still find everything ok then get it checked from any expert

I cant understand the meaning of changing gears in CVT , CVT is continuously variable transmission it changes ratios depending on road and accelerator but it has no gears like auto..

I mean while driving(on D) it takes a long time to shift, It should change the gear according to the acceleration of the car but only the sound is present without any power

Let me rephrase, "when I press full accelerator, car doesn't accelerate (or speed doesn't increase)."

Dear one thing is for sure .... A vitz 1000cc is under power makes a lot of noise on acceleration and it shift gears with out any jerks so you cant judge it changes the gear or not ..... i think its normal ..... drive another vitz same model same cc and then compare ....
in case if your car's gear box is weak then notice one things ie till the car is cold it will run smooth but the more you drive and car becomes hot and hot it will keep on loosing initial acceleration makes a lot of noise, specially on hilly areas where cluth plates and pressure plates have to be in a good condition,,,,, one guess in such scenario is that take the automatic gear stick out and smell the oil .... it will smell like something burnt and then you have to change the gear box ultimately

When the trans lugs down due to load the variator will move to a lower ratio and keep it there to keep the car moving. This will also overheat the CVTF like overcooked milk. In some cases it will also disengage the start clutch.

CVT are not meant for towing or high load - for that you need a regular auto or a manual box.

In Mitsi Lancer and some Nissans there is a CVT overheat lamp that tells you to slow down.
