    Default Vitz Kncok in Noon

    Hi,
Vitz knocking is not a unique topic and every vitz owner have to bear it at some extent.

I have vitz 2007 , I have observed that it knocks only at noon. Neither in night nor in early morning hours. It is strange but it lead me to think that Vitz knocking may be directly related to operating temperature .

    Is this the case ?

As it seems in cold , it is not knocking. Only diff is temperature and it is directly proportional to engine oil

Sir use Hi Octane, knocking will be gone IN SHA ALLAH. If you use thick oil, fuel consumption will be ruined, and its not good for the engine in cold weather.

everyone usually say that. But the point is why regular gasoline not knock in low temperature ?
If this is the case, car has to knock in either weather.

I have experienced more knocking with Zic A+ (5W-20). Earlier was using Toyota oil (10-40) and the knocking was almost not there at all.

Add octane booster. situation has improved a bit however intend to switch back to 10-40 oil asap. I hope this will surely improve the knocking issue.

Sir actually regular fuel is low octane. Low octane means some of the fuel will burn before going to the combustion chamber because of high temperature, thats why it sounds kar kar kar kar. Hi Octane can handle high temperatures.

The real problem is that when the temperature is high, gas particles inside the shock absorbers gain kinetic energy and expand but when the temperature is lower the molecules lose kinetic energy and come back to their orignal position.

check for thermostat valve in the cooling system. what about cooling fans & coolant ?? running direct on plain water in radiator? if its is FUEL issue it will always knock, - Thats a high engine temperature & timing advance which causes knock only during afternoon thats' when atmospheric heat is at peak too
