I heard even second gen vitz doesn't have knocking issue and it more beautiful than third gen (personal opinion) so in my opinion 2 gen is better

The later the better. I still have the first two, 2001 and 2007 and have 2012 in family.

CVT is a very sluggish transmission but the car still has Toyota is every beat. Which means these are extremely reliable cars and being the same Asian yaris spare parts are never an issue for this model. The third generation how ever is different for thai and Malaysian model but still the same for European markets which means spare parts still won't be an issue.

Let's come to driving, as I said previously CVT driving is very sluggish but it can take on a at tranny any time once it comes into action. The car takes time to speedup.

Comparing 2nd and 3rd generation I found 3rd generation 40k driven to be more responsive then my 95k driven 2nd generation

On paper the 3rd gen is longer then the 2nd gen but somehow I found the cabin to be smaller maybe the boot is bigger.

Thirdly 2nd generation has more spaces to keep things the third generation lacks those.

Verdict: I'll definetly upgrade to third generation very soon probably will replace the first gen with it and keep 2nd and 3rd
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Suspension wise these dinkies are mini Indus corollas they can take any terrain in Pakistan ** road height is a issue!

    JazakALLAH Nice review you gave.
Cvt comes in all 3rd gen vitz 1.0 1.3 and 1.5?
And does it knocks as this issue was in 2nd gen?
And if we compare it with swift 1.3 and vitz 1.3 which is goos in drive road clearance and comfort

The at vitz in second generation was a fwd the 2wd had CVT I'm not sure about the 3rd generations modeling. But for 1.3 models vitzes market is a bit slow. If you have the budget brand new is always better. Getting a used car is a khuari unless you get one from the port it self. Or a reliable importer or else everyone is a big fraud

Personly I never enjoyed driving a swift and I hate its seating and rear leg space. The car is no doubt bueatiful. Iv driven a friends car but I wasn't impressed to be honest.

By impressed I mean when I drive a 1.6 at corolla after driving my 1.3 manual I feel it in acceleration and everything with swift it was just another Suzuki nothing special to me.

I never face knocking issue wit my 3rd gen Vitz ... once you used to CVT the so called "sluggishness" will gone .. if a person want pick up for 200 meters and then get stuck in traffic again then one should adopt MT car... I mean in Lahore's traffic I feel more comfortable with auto car then MT... clutch pedal say he jaan nhee chot tee bhai :/

always latest one model is best.
because it always comes with extra features.
but now cars are coming with computerized checking system, and hence maintaining cost has been increased.
but cvt is more towards fuel saving. it gives average like 17/18 km/l within city. What else you need?

for knocking issues, try using hi-octane and mix 20~30% with regular. hope it will go away.

well dont expect nuclear power from the 1kr 3 cyl engine .these are small city cars after all . i just dont get why people fret on and on about more power, where does one even find empty roads anymore to thrash cars,

the 3rd gen is way more refined and handles superbly even with the relatively softer suspension . its an absolute gem. the build quality and plastics are at another level compared to our lousy swifts and corollas
