Default How to do engine wash/details of Vitz 1000cc 1KR-FE engine

Hi Members, Uptill now I haven't tried to clean engine bay area fr my Vitz. I believe the time has come now to get it cleaned as its all dust & sandy from under the hood and in the engine bay area. Please specify the right way to go about it should I just take my car to a particular service stop where they do cleaning with a pressure hose etc? Is it ok to spray water from a hose to the engine bay area or any specific way of doing??

Well you can use the following:

    1) Use air pressure hose to blow off dust throughly over and around the engine. (Get it done throughly giving enough time).
    2) Spray engine and bay cleaning FOAM all over the engine and let it soak all the dirt and drip out.
    3) Repeat step 2 once again (depending on how dirty the engine is).
    4) Spray water jet at the periphery of the engine bay (car body only).
    5) Use clean dry cloth to wipe off the entire engine, related auxiliaries and engine bay.

Note: No water is sprayed on the engine and related auxiliaries.
    Don't leave a highway for a byway....

use plastic bags to cover up electrical components
you can use a spray gun(used for spraying insecticides) or a garden hose to rinse the engine just dont over do it
then use a engine cleaning product (astonish is good and cheap) just spray it and agitate using a brush or a shampoo solution would work too
    rinse again and your done
also if you have blower then its makes drying and getting water out of hard to reach places easy
