Angry Vitz 2007 Airbag warning sign wont go off

    Hello All,
From few weeks Airbag warning sign on my Vitz 2007 has turned on and it stays on. Upon doing some research, I went to Nazir Autos (Islamabad) and they told me that some strip inside the steering has gone bad and it needs to be replaced and quoted me 13,500 for new strip/cable with some 1500 labor totalling to 15k which seems really outlandish to me and has freaked me out since then. I would like knowledgeable members/gurus to comment in this regard and recommend another mechanic as well for a second review. Thank you in anticipation.

The clock spring is gone bad most probably , price for a replacement is 1500-3000 i think not 15000.

Rajatta, The horn is working fine.

Huzaifa, I have done some searching around and most people have wrote that if due to bad repair, the wires get short, airbags can be deployed, that worries me :/

No they wont deploy them selves and normal clock spring replacement charges are 500.
Its just our fear that forces us to pay more then don't have angels working at their shop.
Its a spring which has the number of turns on it and its clip to clip wiring.
