Default Blue Smoke/Engine Burning Oil Vitz 2010

Salam: I owned Toyota Vitz 2010 in 2013 which was driven 23K according to ODO meter and now it is around 80K. Few days before I noticed during weekly checkup that car exhausts blue smoke when I raised its RPM to 35000, I also noticed that it reduce Engine Oil to 0.2 - 0.4 Liters during first 1000 KMs.

I Checked it to Toyota Islamabad motors they said that Engine required overhauling and Piston rings needs to be changed.
Same wording listens from other reliable mechanics.

Both persons also suggest to replace engine.

The current Engine is 1KR-FE 1.0L. The condition is very good. Good mileage, no vibration, no extra sound very smooth driving with or without A/C. I always use HI-Octane (never Mix with super). Use 20w-50 Zic Engine oil. Also check plugs they are also fine.

Kindly suggest how can I save my existing Engine or what do you people think to overhauling it or replace with same one or 1.3L ?

Congrats. The oil and induction rings are shoted. Get it rebuilded and I bet open the engine and you will find the answer. Get the mid end rebuilded and also the head assy. Remember donot rebuild the bottom end if there is no chirping or excessive sound. Head assy job should get new valves, valve seals, valve seats properly seated and polished and vvti cam gear free of any sludge. Also get this CAT converter serviced.

Also after the rebuild job completed get your Fuel filter replaced. Brake service done, initial calibration should be done properly. And dont forget to replace transmission oil.

What do you think if I swap with 1.3 L, the current transmission is compatible with 1.3 L engine?

Yes both 1kr-fe and 2sz-FE have the same Toyota cvt transmission K410. So you can save money by not replacing the gear box give that your current gearbox has no issues.

I think you like to drive a khota corolla like thing by swapping a 1.3 L motor in your 1L vitz. You had mentioned that you are driving a 2010 vitz. Then why do you want to ruin your over all drive by swapping a scrapy engine. Which can ends up in a daily workshop driven vehicle.

Its an humble request. Because you had low knowledge of routine engine matters dont end up in a swap job which ends you up in a regular workshops visit's for resolving multiple after swap issues you will face later. By the way its your money and your call you had to spend it where you want it to be spend ed but in the end dont mess with the 1 L engine. It is better to sale this car off and search for a original 1.3 L vitz not the swapped one.

Bro it seems that you are more inclined towards 1.3 2sz-fe. Get a half cut of 1.3 Vitz. trust me you will save alot by paying bit more to purchase half cut.

As you will get all the required parts in one deal, rather than sourcing each part separately.

True, but this isn't something where one would want to risk and cry about later. A one time investment, best to get it done once, it shall make the car good to go for another 200k at least

While on search for parts you will end up in a dead engine with no where to go. Parts doesnt matter in rebuild. The thing matters most is how you rebuild the motor. If you source original parts and the mechanic is not worthy then you will lost all of the expense and effort you had done for the search of parts. And if the mechanic had some knowledge of how to rebuild it properly then the parts manufacturing countries doesnt matter. At least those parts are built according to some oem standard and are not forged in some old street of lahore..... with only vernier caliper on disposal......... grow up and dont waste your time buddy go for the swap or rebuild asap

Check the PVC (or was it PCV) valve. I saw a video on you-tube advising by an expert to check this item first. Sometimes just changing this valve solves the problem.

Running pure high octane in normal commuter cars is not recommended, as it produces more heat and 20w-50 is a very wrong choice of engine oil, you should have used 10w-40 or 5w-30/ 5w-40

I used all grades of oil mentioned above, they are thinner and engine burns half a litter in 1st 1K KM's. That's why I switched to 20w-50.

That means ur engine was already weak and consuming oil. It shouldn't have consumed any oil if it was fit.
