Default Vitz 2008, 1.L transmission oil change?? plz help

dear friends, i ve bought Vitz 2008 in mint condition about 1.5 lac ODO,, engine type 1KR-FE,, car is't giving me any trouble yet except the gooooon goooons while i drive,, but my friends says its normal for vitz, i ve read about transmission oil change on this forum,

    1. should i go for auto-transmission oil change??
    2. if yes then which brand and quantity and what it would cost me?
    3. from where should i change that?? any expert mechanic in Lahore... plz suggest.
    4. should i remove catalytic converter or just clean it and from where in Lahore???

Toyota Motor made estimate of 11500/- for transmission oil change i.e 6000/- for oil, 3000/- for jain, 2500/- labour.

    regards..

Fella they are charging right amount on the scale of dealership. By the way Liqui Moly Top Tec 1400 will be gopd to go for the cvt replacement. Much more better than toyota.

Goon goon noise is gear box oil pump bearing. My vitz also had that noise but got the gearbox replaced after previous tranny died (maybe tranny died due to oil pump i can't say like with guaranty). And for gear box PLEASE USE CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) Fluid NOT ATF. Currently CVT oil available for vitz is genuine Toyota CVT oil and Kixx CVT oil.

Use Toyota CVT oil only in Vitz. I've kept a Vitz since 2008 and do not by any means use Amy other gearbox oil. Gearbox oil change includes cleaning of the oil chamber and make sure that is done properly. Also the exact quantity for gearoil is 4litres so before pouring in the new oil make sure that previous oil is completely drained. I would strongly recommend going to Toyota buy your own gear Oil and no need for jain replacement if it's not leaking.

Check the wires attaching on grip. Check for wear or tear if not satisfied then replace the grip but cover the joints with Heat Shrink Tubes so wire joint wont be affected.

@zaaman go to bilal gunj and buy the grip but first check the wire like from where it is comming. It may be fitted on the other side by a grip. If yes then buy the whole cable else buy the grip and join it do cover the wire joints by HEAT SHRINK Tube as the wire is in the engine bay so joints wont be affected by heat. Heat Shrink Tube is available in Hall Road.

You have to check CVT transmission series & Type as well along with model.

Vitz have different series of transmission by Toyota,In CVT transmission, there are various series

Mostly in Pakistan, In Vitz, they are of K series CVT transmission:
    • K110 (older models of Vitz) or
    • K210 (for models older than 2004 + also support belt type CVT) or
    • K204 (coming in 2005 model & above) or
    • K411 (in 2011 model & higher)

But be aware, some importers changes the transmission, it might be of newer series for better performance

    there is product by liquilMoly:
LIQUI MOLY - Motor Oils, Additives, Car Care - Products - Top Tec ATF 1400

    Synthetic Technology not Fully Synthetic

Product is named as ATF but is written suitable for CVT as it support traction chain, steel thrust belt. How is that & is it suitable

    @ zaaman
How was your experience then ?

    @goonerific
what is ur transmission series & odo. done how much?

I dont think that importer replace the transmission and in case they do then transmission is not new as vitz Second and Third Gen are fitted with K410 CVT transmission.

Regarding Liqui Moly ATF 1400, i have not used it so no idea (using Toyota CVT-TC Oil).
