Question Toyota Vitz Engine Turns Off While Driving

    Hello,

I own a Toyota Vitz 2006. I'm facing a problem for last 3 days. After running around 10KMs, my car give jerks and some times the engine gets turned off. I have to give it 2, 3 tries to switch on again.

What could be the potential problem?

Does the car vibrate prior to shutting down. This could be because of poor/bad quality fuel. Try to get your fuel tank filled with Hi Octane if it doesn't resolve the issue then a complete engine tune up along with cleaning of sensors from a good mechanic should help. Hope this helps.

Have the car scanned for any error codes.

Get plugs, sensors and injectors cleaned. Use hi octane for atleast the next two or three tanks and then observe. I've faced the issue and it was resolved by following the steps. Good luck.
