Question VItz 2010 Push Start Fob key Programming (Duplicate Smart Key).

    Hi there.
I have Toyota Vitz 2010 with Smart key and Push to Start feature. Though this feature is very handy and easy to use but the bad side of it: I HAVE ONLY ONE SMART KEY. so in case I loss my one and only smart key, I'd be in a big trouble. so I decided to make duplicate smart key. By hours of Internet searching I found that a smart key often called fob can be purchased separately and can be programmed with your car by entering it in Programming Mode. There are tons of tutorial videos and articles providing the instructions about entering a Toyota car in programming mode which accepts physical key. But I could not find any tutorial video about car having Push to start feature. So I decided to ask from you guys if anyone have passed through it already and know how this stuff work?

I always want to get that fob key for my daihatsu move custom but couldn't able to. I was lucky enough to source at a locker maker and he quoted me Rs.12000/- for the duplicate one. Strange part is that only one remote can be in working state at a time. So if you lost one then you have to make a second one. The alternate solution which he gave me was to make that fob key. He quoted me Rs.8000/- for that. So we both have common problem and need to get the solution.

For your correction, I have seen 3 remote being configured to one car so concept of one remote configured at a time is wrong. In fact you should have the original fob remote key in your possession to configure the spare key. Speaking of that, is your car enabled with Push to start feature? just asking.

Yes they can be programmed and you can had 3 keys. 1:master. You already had. 2: slave key. Secondary key. 3: Backup key. The third and final.

Source the transponders used one and they can be easily programmed through Toyota original scan equipments. Note. Universal scan equipments are not worthy enough to properly register the slave and backup key and also cannot calibrate them so dont fall victim of those sitting in the market...

Thanks for your input and information. I appreciate it. Do you know how to activate the programming mode of Toyota having Push to start feature?

Actually no need to do the dumb door opening closing procedures. Connect the Toyota Scan equipment and get into entry & start ecu configuration get into utility feature and there you will find Wireless Remote Initialization select it and do the procedure as specified. There you are register the new keys or unregister the previous ones.

well that's the conclusion I came to. I currently have techstream tis software but don't have the VCI cable to connect my Vitz via OBD II port to my Windows Machine. Do you know where to find one? and what would be the price of that? Moreover, Can we configure a Smar Key that was already configured with a vehicle and we want to configure it again with some other vehicle? in easy words, can we configure a second hand Smart key ?
