Default How to tow another car using vitz ?

    Hey guys

So i know there is the removable plastic panel in front where we screw / twist on the bolt thing when we need to get the vitz towed

But haven't found any similar arrangement at rear end for when j want to tow another car...

Perhaps some one who has towed another car using vitz can guide me here

Also the safe towing load for vitz is 600 kg. how much does an avg car (alto, corolla or city) weigh ? Any ideas ?

    Thanks in advance

If there is no such arrangement ar rear it means that the car is not ment for towing.

Get a proper truck application for the requires job.

First of all it os not recommended to tow the vehicle with little cvt vitz. But incase you need to tow some corolla or any other vitz you can tow it easily. Just shift into B Gear Mode and drive steady at 30 km/h dont floor the pedal to the metal. Every 50 kms make some stops for 10 minutes and keep the engine running it will allow the cvtf fluid to cool down and then you can tow the vehicle for another 50 km's.

You can also redline your car after starting it on a December morning. Just because it keeps working doesn't mean it is in perfect condition.

Towing without an aux cooler on an auto/CVT four banger shouldn't be done unless you want to rebuild/replace the tranny frequently.

Open the trunk lid and get it tied with the neck of the driver who is curious to tow the vehicle..................

    Now putting this joke aside

For temporary towing get the ropes tied to the rear end main low drive bar and many more places where a rope can easily be tied. But remember More frequent Jerks and the whole low end will end up on road while you will be moving on road with 2 front wheels. ........

F10 and f8 had slight low ratio transmissions on them. The 1kr is much better than those but the cvt transmission should be healthy. If some one tows the vehicle on D drive then he will ends up in broken secondary cvt belt assy along with start clutches to be cooked like a roast....... so for towing always use B gear Mode it will ensure that transmission will not change the ratios and stays in lower ratios ensuring best power output.

I have seen this type of assembly on some cars, mount it there and you are good to go. May be the bumper has to be cut open to make room for the hook but the setup surely looks sturdy and can tow a big load too.

@memad those tows usually come with the car or else the socket where the tow tool is attached can already be seen since its attached to the chassis, they are normally only seen on jeeps, mini vans and US and European cars and you are told by the dealers that you can tow with the vehicle or not and how much weight you can tow with it if you just go and ask them. According to the vitz user manual(which is open in front of me) they recommend that you do not tow any thing with it so rather then using the vitz get a different loaner from your family and friends and use that to tow the car.

This is not meant to tow a car, this is meant to pull a small trailer and there are certain precautions when you tow a vehicle, the towing vehicle should be heavier than the vehicle in tow otherwise you get into a situation where the trailer wags the tractor and you end up upside down on the road.

Your vitz has no towing hooks - the little eye toyota provide is to pull the car onto a trailer bed and tie it down with that too. Using a rope on the rear suspension linkages etc is a 100% guarantee to bend them out of shape.

Its basic common sense that you dont tow a vehicle without proper safety checks and procedure (check your owner's manual - OH, its a JDM its either lost, missing or in japanese)
