Default Knocking and engine check light issue

    AOA.
somebody told me that knocking's main reason is that engine is weak..!! Em really worried coz my ride is totally cool but this thing is pinching me out..!! Any help will be great.
Plus yesterday, while i was driving, i stopped at a gas station and got my car's air filter cleaned as well... After moving a bit, car's engine check list turned on.. And car turned off... I was on for almost like 2 minutes.. After 2 minutes, it turned off automatically and car is now working fine again.. Dont know what exactly happened
Plus i feel my ride's pick differs from petrol to petrol... I once got hi-octane and the pick was superb... Means like i was double the pick and speed what normally is... Car is vitz 2008, imported in 2013 and 96000 km driven.
P.s will be grateful if i get contact number of any certified or really good mechanic in Lahore or pindi or Islamabad who can really understand the mechanism of vitz coz till now, all mechanics i have visited, then talk in air and make wild guesses and cant answer my questions..!!

    Regards

Can you read the exact model number from the box ?

I am not a mechanic but I've read about spark plugs and tried this trick on friend's and family's JDMs. So far it has worked like a charm.
Honda's OEM specification is HR6 or 20 (ngk, denso). If coppers work for you, you can later replace them with iridiums but good copper should last about 20k

Vitz spark plugs are already 6 or 20 heat range

    No , spark plugs...

I recommend replacing the plugs before taking apart the cat. If plugs don't solve your problem, they are about 6-800 rupees, you can keep them as spare for gift them to a friend.

I have vitz 2006 which is 160k driven now. The only solution to knocking is high octane nothing else. There is nothing wrong with your car, people will come up with their own theories so don't fall for anyone.
I too was facing this knocking crap. I topped up my car 3-4 time with high octane 100% ( no mixtures with regular petrol ) and drove the car till reserve. And during this time I drove in S gear at high rpms at intervals. After all this process the car is knock free now. It runs like a champ and still with AC gives me 13km/l

Which engine oil are you using in your Vitz 2006 with 160k mileage? Toyota dealership here are recommending 20w50 for a 130k driven 2009 model vitz.

Toyota tin pack 5w30 changed the way my corolla used to behave......last year they jacked up the price to 3800 when I switched over to liqui moly 5w30 (rs 4200)and the drive was like butter. Since then I have not looked back and progressed to liquimoly synthetic. Toyota guy asked me why all toyota genuine parts except engine oil when price has dropped back to Rs 3400.

Nothing unusual. We increase the price when something gains market. Last time wholesale rate at toyota ravi was 3400
