well... are u absolutely sure abt wat u've written in ur post?

i know 4 vitz owners whose cars are working fine on cng. maybe its because they got their cng installed from experts...

i am myself going to buy a vitz very soon (just after eid maybe)...but nevertheless i'll do some more research before that just in case ...

    do i smell fish here?

Your experience might have shocked the vitz owners. Lets see how other owners respond to your experience.

@zwk35, Mate I agree with you on "HUR CHUMKTI HUI CHEEZ SONA NAHIN HOTEE" and am sorry for you for havign bad experience,

    But,

    1) Not every car is made with cng conversion in mind.

Vitz is not designed/ made for south asian market only but its a global car. and in most of the other parts of the world a 4cyl 1300cc car is considered a small car and in these parts of the world if you are young and buying your first car or want to car which will cost you less on the fuel then you buy Vitz or Jazz or similar.

    2) It is a comon sense thing, imports are expensive to maintain anywhere in the world, unless other wise you have a charade 84/86, corolla 86,84, 88, etc which were imported like 100,000++ in the golden days and are now good 15 - 20 years old.

    3) wether a car will convert to CNG or spares are available and cheap or mechanics are able to fix it ??? this kind of research is normally done before you buy the car not after.
e.g. 1997 BMW 7 series are sold around $35-40,000 only in Australia. and even though it seems a bargain at that price considering 9 years ago car costed over $100,000+ still experts tell you that its a very sophisticated pice of machinery and even a small faults will cause big dent in your hip pocket.

SO while I am sorry for you for loosing some money and having bad experience but i am hopefull that you would have learned most valuable lesson in your life i.e. " Research before you buy".

2003 car @ only 13K km most prolly meter was reversed. ZWK35 you should have posted here before selling the car. I guess it required all the liquids to be changed, plugs, airfilter, along with throttle body service (as performed by storm and other Vitz owners), which in turns improves the fuel economy. Or you simply had a heavy foot. Any ways, whats done is done, i myself am planning to get a JDM car Inshallah, best of luck with your furture purchase

yes akbar is right, there must be some wrong with the car, that is why its giving such bad mileage. I remember in the beginnig when vitz was new people talked about its milage. some of them were claiming 18+ per litre.
The thing is that if you want to buy such a car which is not well knwon by the local mechanics then you should have a little knowledge how it works and how to maintain it.
The problem here in pakistan is that pople just want and see that car runs, they don't care about efficency.

I have a 2003 vitz and i'm more than happy with it since i have done more than 500KM on one tank (YES 500!).

It's all down to how you drive it and what you use it for.

Also you should check those prices again since i know for a fact that Toyota vitz parts don't cost the same as merc parts since i own both brands.

I think your car neede a full fluid change as well as some cleaning of the engine intrenals.

If you wanted CNG you should have had it doen by professionals since alot of people have gotten conversions done and they are running fine till now.

However if you feel that the local (overpriced/underspecced) cars are better that is your choice. I shoudl point out that there is almost no way your cars milage was real and because of that it lead to you having false expectations of it.

Never trust what the odometer says in any used car and don't trust auction sheets either. The car should tell you everythign you need to know.

i have a platz running on cng with lamda and trust me its the best thing to drive..the car gives me 80-90kms(ALWAYS ON A/C) on a 50L cylinder with hardly 8-10% power loss..the drive is amazing..steady like a rock, and pretty much fast..gives alot of cars a hard time..all in all vitz imported here are sh*t..piece of advise, try SELF-IMPORT!!

    I experienced Toyota VITZ twice.

And i would like to say it is better in COMFORT from TOYOTA COROLLA 1.6 SE-SALOON.

But there is a simple question.

Why do u buy a small 1000 CC car ???

The answer is simple. JUST for ECONOMY.

As far as economy in concern Vitz is far behind from the current local 1000 CC cars.

If u want ur car to run on CNG for economy (ofcourse) there r 3 options which r best in Pakistan.

Chevy JOY, Hyundai SANTRO, Chery QQ.

These 3 cars provides best FEATURES in its class and as well as economy.

    Chevy JOY ENGINE :- MPFI 8-VALVE 62HP

    Hyundai SANTRO :- EFi 12-Valve 55 HP

Chery QQ :- EFi 52 HP.

The engine and the specifications of these 3 cars represents that they all r UP-TO-DATE.

In terms of CNG i think SANTRO is best among all. Becuase it provides the TRUNK SPACE along with the CNG .

all the cars mentioned above arent in vitz's league..vitz is mroe economical than these cars anyday provided that u have the proper setup ( if u opt for cng conversion)....santro and vitz dont evn belong in the same sentence..

i agree that the vitz is more comfortable and loaded than a rolla AND that it has a safety cell, ABS, Seatbelt pretensiners and Airbags.

It's a no-brainer, however if you WANT to skimp on safety & comfort and go purely for economy and out-dated shapes you should go for a local car without a doubt.

Best advise is to either buy from altamash or import one yourself,... there is a huge difference from car to car and i find it amazing how many people have bought bad Vitz's from shady dealers in PK.

    ABS cost 50 thousand
    Airbag may be the same

Now tell how much local cars cost with Abs and Airbags

    @ALL

The price of VITZ AND VTi Oriel 2000 is almost the same.

And the above 3 mentioned cars r brand new where as Vitz is after all a 2nd hand car.
