    Default Vitz long self

    Aoa guys
    My vitz is taking longer selfs in a random manner.. Sometimes starts on half self and sometimes it takes 2-3 seconds..
    If i press accelerator and start it starts immediately.
    Please help rectify issue

    1. Changing injector resolve the problem. Thats the good and important thing.
    2. You are finding high octane is another thing. Doesn't matter mile ya na mile. Fuel to dalwana ha na.. car to chalti rahe gi.
    But hobc 3 full tank arose that long self problem? ?

    1. That's indeed important thing, Alhumduillah it's solved now.
    2. I might find it in F-6, but travelling all the way for just HOBC from Bahria seems not a good idea :p , So i will pour as soon as i go there, right now tank isn't empty.
    3. Yes, That's a strange thing. I poured two three full tanks of HOBC and long self started, I read on some other thread in PW that it arises due to HOBC being too dry.. Not sure how it is linked.

    @rajaatta I am also experiencing long self problem but my case is When the car is parked overnight and in Cold start Morning or when car is parked more than 6 to 8 hours. But this long self problem don't appear in hot start or semi hot start. What can be the issue?

    Note: This thing is happen more when I started pour High Octane

    Over night fuel line pressure drops. This is your problem. Normally the fuel line is filled with gasoline and the whole line holds the fuel as the vehicle is shut down and on next startup as you touch your start the fuel pump pumps the fuel in already filled fuel line and your vehicle starts perfectly and when the line is emptied by any reason after some time when you crank the engine there is no fuel present in the line and hence it took some time to fill up the whole line before starting your vehicles engine..
    This problem can be caused by 2 reason. 1: is faulty FPR present in the fuel filter assy which holds the fuel from reversal drainage. And the 2nd fault is. 2: Faulty or leaking fuel injectors...... so for the accurate diagnosis forst get your hand on FPR and see if the problem is solved if not then go directly for the fuel injectors........ have peace

    Today I checked from Bilal Ganj market for fuel injector. They ask 2000 for the replacement of all 3 injectors.
    With replacement warranty if they don't work well.

    Asalam-o-Alykum every one. I just got resolved my long self issue 3 days back after spending whole day at the workshop.The mechanic experimented multiple things one by one that could cause the long self issue. I would list all of them below in the sequence he did in my case. I'm not at all a technical guy so pls ignore if i write anything silly

    1. Computer Scan:
    The computer scan showed 2 codes. First one was crank sensor faulty. Its was replaced for Rs. 600 and the code was clear after that. it could be one of the reasons of long self. For me it was not the case and the long self was still there
    The second code that appeared was P.1604 Engine Stability Mal-Function. This code was gone after changing the MAP sensor that was a bit damaged in my case. Got it for Rs. 1000. Now i had no codes on the computer and also my "check-engine" light disappeared in the dashboard.
    2. The mechanic then changed the 3 fuel injectors, but that didn't work as well so he inserted the old fuel injectors back.
    3. Replaced Fuel motor inside the fuel filter but that also didn't work so he inserted back the old fuel motor.
    4. Changed the oxygen senor with a kabli one, didn't work, inserted my old one back.
    5. Changed the CAM sensor with a kabli one, didn't work, inserted my old one back
    6. Cleaned the grips going to the computer, long self still there
    7. He noticed that when ever there is long self there is not current being passed to all the 3 coils. From here he diagnosed that it seems a timing issue.
    Problem & Solution in my case:
    He opened the engine and found that timing chain was not at the desired position. There should be 7 heads b/w the 2 wheels of the belt, where as in my case there were 8 heads, belt was loose. He fixed the chain position to have 7 heads gap.
    3 days gone, long self issue never re-appeared. proper current in supplied and my car drive and pick has also become very very good.

    @haseebhamid thank you for posting a detailed inspection of your problem but the hit and trial method is how your mechanic gains his knowledge so...better find a better mechanic(impossible task).

    What is your car's mileage?

    I wonder whether the timing chain gets loose on its own or is it part of some routine maintenance to check its tension?

    I suggest you check timing via the scanner and if . post a graph of timing vs rpm.

    You can say it hit and trial but these things can affect self. Ateast he is honest and didn't take any extra money. Also he arranged all the kabli parts without taking money from me.
    My car milage is 12km/l on AC in city.
    I bought the car few months back. Previous owner might have done engine work and disturbed timing chain.

    Battery changed. Gravity was okie but one cell of battery was weak. 2 days passed and it seems that issue has been resolved.

    Surprisingly got fuel injectors in Rs.800 with out adjusting old ones.
    Injectors directly taken out from a clean engine at bilal ganj market. 300 instalation charges and 50 car parking charges. Total cost = 1150 and solved my 8 month old problem.
