    Default Vitz 2007 burning smell on S-Mode (70-80 KM/H)

Hi, I observed twice the burning smell when I accelerated my VITZ 2007 on S-Mode. just after 80 KM/H, I switched to D-mode. I don't feel any performance related problem/ abnormal noise from Engine/ gear etc. what can be reason...seeking expert opinion

I am not an expert, but have kept these type of cars from a long time and have a lot of knowledge about them.

How much your CVT oil is used (how many kilometers)
and you should not take your car to 70-80 speed on S gear. It is meant to be used for hilly areas at speed around 30-40 max.

Thanks Sir, I replaced it @ 65,000Km right now it is 95,000Km. I think when I studied manual S- for Speed (Late gear shift upto 3rd gear) and maximum speed was 80 Km/H.....B-is for hill 2nd Gear....you are right it is old now..i should keep this factor in mind

yes, you should avoid this practice.

If there is no burning smell in normal driving (D), then there is no need to worry. Just take care of your car by not going to limits.

You would you pull that dinky to 80km/h on S mode!

It's bound to go crazy. S MODE IS slow not speed. Plus when you shift to Since from D you will only feel braking. Similarly like in B mode.

In S mode braking in even harder. It's only for up hills. Don't drag these Dinkins they cannot take so much wear and tear.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    S mode is sport mode
it would behave like a car with short shift gear ratio (quicker acceleration)

    B is for braking (downhill)

Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....
