    Default Vitz rattling noise

I have Toyota Vitz 2000 model and the car makes this horrible rattling noise when the car is accelerated, but the noise only comes in the first gear and only at low speed and vanishes as soon as the car reaches 20 klm/h. The noise is more whenthe car is cold and gets less as the engine gets hot, i have noticed the same noise in other vitz's as well, can anybody tell me what the noise is from???
    thanx alot

I just cant belive this, but that noice is ur crank bearing voice,

which mean in pakistani turms u have to rebuild the engine,

    do the following,

check ur engine oil, this can happen if u have used cheap low grade engine oil,

there is a possiability that it can be any other sound but if it comming from the engine in MId rpm,

Then get ur self a new engine,

I went to Toyota Islamabad and they checked the noise and its comming from the tension bearing and i would be getting it fixed on thursday, its quite common problem with the vitz as its got adjustable tension bearing which makes this noise if not adjusted properly...

I would Advise You to go to your mechanik & ask him to adjust that tension belt by the adjuster in front under the engine like a small shock. it is the belt adjuster if its loosen it makes belt tight and if tightened it makes belt lose & making it out. I also had that rattling noise like Knoking in My Corrolla & Company people said that they would Change the whole set costing about:
    Belt Adjuster 4000
    Pully Bearing 800
    Throtle Body Servicing 1000
    Fuel Filter 2200

    Estimating Around with labour Rs.10,000.

I went to my mechnik & told the whole story. he spayed the WD 40 between the belt which reduced the voice for some time but it again started. Then he changed the pully Bearing & noise desapeared.
I think Company people are only working for the money & not for the Sake of the Customer. When I also asked the prices of the parts mentioned from the open market of genion one they were about 300% less!!!!. So i would advise you not to waste your precsious time & Money in the Company & try to solve it with your own Mekanik For your & your car Sake.
    THANKS

i agree 100% i't alot cheaper to use a mechanic, the dealerships are rip-ofs

    @all
just make sure you find a mechanic who has "evolved" and doesnt scrape his knuckles on the ground when attempting to walk upright,... usually they are chimps!

Thanx everyone for the suggestions, i would get the bearing changed as the belt is adjusted properly but the sound is not going,it is the bearing itself and what i've heard is that in new Japanese cars they are putting chinese manufactured bearings etc, thats why they wear off so quick. No wonder the bearing only costs 150-200 Rs for chinese, as Japanese dont make them anymore.TOOO expensive for them to make themselves..

I again have a solution for It.
Its a little Tricky as the tension belt moves when the AC is on so it makes load on the engine. Which makes Engine Power Low which makes belt to move little slow & makes Noise. The trick is that when belt makes sound it needs little Grease which will make belt to move easily. Spray Little wax Spray between it & noise will go as it was not. I revise this procedure every Week as belt become dry. Desi method used is using bathsoap as it have animal stock in it which make belt to move easy.
New belt will make more sound as it would be hard.
