    Default Best engine swap for VITZ?

    Hey guys,I'm thinking of buying a vitz for modification(It was either this or an 88 or 95 civic),So I wanted to ask you guys which would be the best NA engine swap for Vitz with respect to performance & reliability.(20V BT maybe ?,or any of the Z-generation like the 3ZZ-FE,1ZZ-FE,2ZZ-GE OR 1NZ-FE?)

    1NZ-FE is a factory option in the vitz, i'd suggest a 20V (BT or ST) or a 4A-FE if you want real power, but the 1NZ-FE if you want 100% compatibility and reliability.

    Hmmm,I think i'll go with my 1st choice,the 20V BT :d(if it fits the engine bay that is)but what alterations and stuff would i have to do for this and what if i find a 2ZZ-GE or 1ZZ-FE,would that go right in without any problems?

    Honest truth is that i'm not too good with toyota engines and cars, that is FLi_GTi's speciality, perhaps guncha & levin could also help you on engine choice but as far as applications go i can't see why any of these engines won't fit (except for possible height restrictinos) as they are all 4cylinder blocks and are about the same length & width.

    1.0l vvti engine is very good engine if u want engine swap anyhow the swap to 1.8l vvti corolla engine

    it was running nitrous that day, I had some lying around spare from a project car i'm building...... hash4u knows what insanity i'm working on right now,.. LOL!!

    truth is that i was upset a few night ago because i lost to an XLi (4 cars at 130km/h) so i wanted what my car could do with some upgrades, was the scariest thing i have done so far, car needs alot of mods to the suspension and brakes for those speeds.

    My advice is not to get a conversion since the car will be too fast for it to be safe.

    Nice NoS in Vitz,hmmmm,how much shot of NoS is safe for a stock 1sz-fe.(and while we're on that subject i would also like to know how much shot of NoS is safe for A 20V BT,1NZ-FE & 1ZZ-FE)

    Don't worry storm bhai,I'll also upgrade the suspension to a stiffer one and upgrade the car with 4 wheel cross drilled brakes,gradually that is

    well if you are thinking of swapping a motor in vitz, then i assume that you are serious about power and can spend reasonable amount of cash... having said that i will recommend you 2zz-ge, as its the same generation to the vitz engine.... but as we are in pakistan and i havent seen the zz-ge either in lahore, peshawar or pindi so i think the only option remains 4age blacktop....

    but try to find the zz-ge, even if it is expensive, the power gain is also quiet big over the bt..

    as for nos i thik storm has said it right, i wont risk more than 60shot (safely) for the zz-ge and i think 30 is the max for the vitz.....
    its all about power to weight ratio...

    well bhai.......
    4A series engines need lots of mods to fit them inside VITZ...
    as its made a/c to Z-GEN engines...so its much easier to fit any Z-GEN than 4A or 4E earlier ones...
    agreed with ghuncha......i think if u want some good serious econo-power car.........3ZZ-FE 1.6L one is best for it..
    1.8L is too much and a hard find......!
    fitting 4AGE like motors in VITZ is pain in *****......
    fitting that in starlet mein jaan nikal jate hai ...Custom axles complete foundation relocation and lots of katam piti

    1ZZ-FE wid 6-speed tranmission 136hp(not altis one which have 5 speed trany)
    2ZZ-GE wid 6-speed transmission 177hp
    2ZZ-GTE wid 6-speed transmission 215hp (American model)

    There's no such thing a a 2zz-gte, or a 1zz-fze, or a 2zz-fte, or anything like that. ....if you have a turbo in 2zz-ge, its a turbo'd 2zz-ge.....not a 2zz-gte.
    nothing like this came from factory.....
    its all about power to weight ratio...

    hello qualified ppl,
    just wanted to ask one thing about vitz
    what should be done if one need sudden acceleration in automatic transmission of this car
    is pressing the accelerator fully the only option?

    @athlon3ghz
    if you need good acceleration quickly you can either floor the throttle and let the gearbox choose the gear or if you want a faster response from the gearbox you can choose a gear (manuall moving the shifter) and flooring the throttle.

    just be careful not to select too low a gear or you'll over-rev your engine.

    Hmmm,2ZZ-GE would be gr8 but it's hard to find(and expensive if i find one) and i have found a Complete 20V BT setup for a reasonable price and it was my first choice but now i'm having my doughts abt doing a 20V swap in Vitz :s and getting a Z-GEN engine instead.Guess i'll have to do some research and think abt what to get.But have to buy a Vitz 1st .Whats the market rate for a 1999-2000 VITZ nowadays and how much less would a 2 door cost in comparison to a 4 door one?
