    Default Vitz Fuel Average

    I need information about fuel average of Vitz, how many kilometers it does in one litre petrol?

    Infact someone told me that Vitz costs 4 Rs/Km on petrol and 3 Rs/Km on CNG. If this is true then there is not much difference in fuel average whether to use petrol or CNG. I don't understand then why people convert it to CNG.

    Please guide me as i have to decide for Vitz and its important information i would like to have from experts.

    Thanks in anticipation for your expert views.

    many ppl say i get this and tht on highways, when asked at what they drive on highways, its like 80-90kmph, when im driving on highway, its like 130kmph
    now thats a huge differance, so its always better to mention details abt ur driving.

    @ Red Bull
    once i said that my ride gives me 120-130 Kms with a 40 Kg cylinder on long routes, it means that i travel on Motorway (120-130 Km/h) and GT road (100-110) Km/h and not on 80-90 Km/h. so......

    everyone here now seems to be talking about the mileage of vitz on cng
    I have a 2004 vitz on petrol and it give me 12km/litre in the city with the A/C on. But another major factor is that i have got a 195 tyre with 15" rims on it.
    Now that the weather is better i have been running it without A/C and i can already sense it giving me a significanltly more mileage than ordinary (although havent had the time to calculate it yet?

    So my suggestion to everyone would be that depending on your usage, if you can afford a car on petrol then dont thinkg about cng because eventually you might end up spending money you saved on repairing your engine

    P.S Not to forget that the repair work of Vitz in pakistan is not at all cheap!!!

    I have heard people here on PW that they have been using Vitz on CNG for 1-2 years without facing any engine problems?

    While looking into milages kindly take into account any change in stock rim/tyre sizes, cheers.

    How do you check the tyre/rim size? Is it written on the tyres? (yes, I am THAT naive!)

    @zeeshan

    just try it for a 1-2 month.. and pick the best pump in ur area as i have noticed quite difference in shell caltex and PSO pumps.. caltex n PSO are better.. you might drive a lot as you are excited and have got a new ride so i suggest you wait and see for 2 months at least and then compare ur buget. dont compare its milage with local cars u will feel the difference. sacrifice man i have cut off my other extra expenses for my car simply i dont like CNG.. and specially on vitz

    @zeeshansyed

    [treadwidth]/[sidewall]R[rim dia]

    is the format.

    e.g, my car has Durun D103 145/70R12, means:

    1. 145mm tread width,
    2. sidewall is 70% of the tread width, (If no profile rating mentioned then it is 80%)
    3. R means radial (if the tyre is not radial, a dash "-" is present)
    4. 12 (in inches) is the rim diameter (or the internal side of the tyre)

    This scheme is according to USDOT.

    Some other letter also tell the speed rating e.g. 155SR13 (usually installed in Margalla) tells you:

    1. 155mm treadwidth
    2. By default 80% profile
    3. SR means radial w/ 180kmph speed rated
    4. 13 (inch) wheel dia.

    If you go into ZR rubber, designated for over 249kmph, there are other letters too, but that is too much detail.

    (Faster speed means softer rubber with more grip and more safety but also greater treadwear). There are other letters such as HR, TR, I don't remember their speed rating, you can actually search on the net for it.

    The other important thing is load capacity.

    @AhsanZS
    Nice information, thanks

    @Adnan
    Sorry bro, I did not see this thread for long... As far as the cylinder Size is concerned, there is no space left in the trunk after getting a 55 KG Cylinder instaled, but thats by choice ofcourse, I very seldom have to put something in the trunk while I have to get the Gas filled every two days or so, so I preferred compromising on the lesser evil. Another thing is that there is not much difference inb the sizes of both the cylinders, you can not put a hand trolly in the trunk having either of the cylinders, so I for myself believe you should go for the 55 KG Cylinder, I am quite happy with my decision.

    Ah and another thing, on mileage like I already told you guys, it differs drasctically depending on how you drive the car... so always compare your own driving on different cars and there mileage

    brother i am a happy owner of Vitz had it for almost a year now, Mashallah a brilliant car it does15 km local with AC no doubts,, and around 19 on long runs, just get it nicely tuned up , i drive from rwp to isb or only rwp n the traffic is absolutely crazzy considering that 4 rs /km is not bad at all for local..
    spending 45000 on a cng kit and getting only 3rs/km loosing the boot space and then draggin the car , maintainence probs, i wud rather stick to petrol.

    @wrangler

    When u say get it nicely tuned up, do you mean changing plugs and oils and filters? I did change my plugs and engine oil and transmission oil and will see how much I mileage I get now.

    Before changing the oils / plugs, I filled in 1000 rupees when I first got the car and it gave me about 100 kms with A/C always on.
