Default vitz engine check light always on at CNG

    Hey buddys!

    1. I own a vitz 2003 model auto transmission and i am running it on cng for last 2 years. the engine check light never goes off when i drive on cng but on petrol it is otherwise. so anybody plz let me know if there is any problem with the ECU (i m not very good at technicalities).

    2. Secondly, it does not go more than 105km/h on cng after a great effort where as my friends 2000 vitz with similar condition goes more than 120km/h with a blink on cng. i m very much desperate at this situation.

    3. Plz tell me if there is something to be replaced apart from Fuel Filter, Oil and Air filter (coz i have already done that but no improvement observed). and what is the best place or a good mechanic in Lahore who understands all these things wisely

    I will be much obliged.
    Thanks and regards.

hmm! a similar kind of problem came to me few days back n was rectified accordingly
An engine scan by a campatible scaner is the right way to go.

It is your o2 sensor sending the alarm.
When you switch from petrol to gas, the emissions from exhaust change (due to change in fuel type), causing the o2 to send alarm.

It is not a problem as long as the alarm disappears on petrol.

Its your 02 sensor. The ECU cannot convert to closed loop operation due to the 02 readings when the car is immediatly turned to CNG. The MIL is caused by the pulsewidth increase on cold starts. Simply put, just start the car on petrol, warm it up till the idle settles down. Switch to gas, no MIL.

    1) No issue with the ECU, the engine check light is because the ecu prompts error on
CNG coil although i got mine checked several times so ignore it as long as u r on CNG. but if u start on petrol and stay on n the EC blinks get your petrol sensor checked.

    2) u definetly need a tune up, cause mine dose 130 km/hr with minimum efforts on CNG w/o AC. & round 120 with AC. replace your plugs with atleast 2 pin. clean the air filter regularly n get it replaced every 3rd month at max.

    3) regular clean up with any good carb- cleaner
