Default Toyota Vitz or Chevrolet Joy on CNG?

Moved to Correct Section [Mod Edit]

i want to buy a 1000 CC Car which i want to drive on CNG.
Which car should i buy from the following:
    1. Chevrolet Joy Factory Fitted CNG
    2. Toyota Vitz (Manual or Automatic) on CNG

    My range is Rs. 500,000-550,000

Mostly, i drive the car in the city, so which of the above will better perform on CNG (in city)

What abt availability of parts of both the cars and performance on CNG.

    Kashan !
vitz and joy, both has same NAKHRA as parts, maintinance etc, but as vitz is japan assembled and joy 1000 is paki(800 was foreign asembled) i'll prefer Vitz,
automatic car goes well on cng in local roads as u dun need picks etc, it doesnt mean automatic cars are failed on cngs, my czn has platz 2005 cng automatic, and on motorway, he easily reaches 150-160 kmph, and pick is also gr8,(kit is installed frm my wrk shop) so if u r spending money go for vitz, and try to buy non cng fitted car, install it by ur own !
realy ! i m sure vits is defenately good frm joy !
    thnx

Both are good. But compared to market vitz is best.

go for manual vitz ( if you perfer to install CNG)
in case of Joy the cylinder is for 40 kg in city it gives around 110 kms i havent tested it on highway. On AC it gives around 95 km. on patrol i am still getting the avg as 14.22 kms in city w/O AC and with A/C it is around 13.18 km/Litre (city).

if you wish to retain the car for 3 years or more go for joy.
I rather not agree on vitz on automatic shift but manual could be a better choice if you wish to retain the car for not more than 2 yrs and if the problem doesnt come up soon (mechnical and electrical faults). if you are rather instersted in buying a vitz go for a low milage car it will serve you better.

I think Joy is far better than Vitz under the criteria that you have

    1) It has company fitted CNG which means no problem ever.
    2) It has a comfortable ride.
    3) Consumption and most importantly pick of Joy on CNG, is exceptional.
    4) Another common thing that I observed is: You may see many ads in Sunday newspapers for people who want to sell Vitz. Jitnaa jaldii Vitz lii uss say b jaldii sale kerna chahaty hain.. But you may find such an ad very rarely for joy. People who purchased Joy, they are happy with it and they have no plans to sale it. This is just an analysis that I observed.

Guys, i have Vitz 2000 on CNG automatic. i dont have joy and i've never driven so can't say anything positive or negative about joy.

When i bot Vitz the car could only be driven on petrol although having CNG installed but poor pickup. After getting it tuned up and installing basic tuning parts the car drives perfect. Although not as much pick as you can have in manual cars in first gear as automatic changes gear instantly, but then you have to compromise comfort with speed any way. In my point of view, its been 3 months since the tuning and MashAllah Vitz is an amazing car on CNG and petrol both.

^I agree with you. Once you get the tuning right, it drives perfect on CNG.

@usman_khawaja. You have dug an year old thread. The scenario has changed a lot since. CNG is no more popular because its price is approaching fast that of petrol and already margin has shrunk to a point that with just spending a little more you can enjoy petrol and also get some space in the trunk.

    @Autophile

I think information shared on any time is not old at all.

You are right that Petrol and CNG prices are going side by side now. But CNG is still far more economical than petrol. The mileage that a car will cover in ~1000 Rs petrol, it can be done easily with a filled cylinder of CNG that’s costs ~400 Rs. And above all, it’s your choice to go for petrol or CNG but majority of people think about This economical factor.

vitz is more spacious, solid looking and comfortable while joy is comfortable but not as like the vitz, joy is smaller from the inside but overall the biult quality is great. its got some performance and i have driven both, while the rest is your decision, but if i were i wud go for vitz cuz its safe and spacious

Why compare a Vitz with joy.. there quiet a lot differnce in both cars interms of safety, drive, luxourisnes, comfort n price tag also.u should go for vitz because it provides all things u need to find in a car starting off with air bags for safety, parts of vitz are also cheap n easily available for e.g a back shock of vitz can be bought for 1k,maintaince is also easy, vitz is a type of car that u wont see reguraly in any mechanic shop unless it was in bad accident or totaled..now comes to the part of cng..its surely a go..it doesnt matter whether its auto or manual until its tuned properly..its perfect car for city dweller, the only con ur gonna get in cng is when u drive in ac ..brakes tend to get a little stiffer but not to worry its just only normal in vitz

In karachi , Chevorlet Joy ky mechanic kafi kam hy aur parts b mushkil sy hi milty hy. 1000CC jo ky paki assembled hy wo to bhool ky b mat khareedna. Try to find 800CC japan assambled.

Vitz parts are easily available and this is also a very solid car. Remember its toyota.

Baqi I recommend you that don't go for CNG,try finding 2005+ Automatic or earlier then 2004 Manual Vitz. You can easily get 15 average in city drive. Agar rooz ki drive 30KM sy less hy to go for Vitz and no CNG in it. Monthly 1000 rupy ka difference pery ga sirf aur sirf airfilter aur oil change hi kerwana pary ga.

Agar achi gari mil jayee to parts ky masly kam hi aaty hy and you only need running parts like air/oil filter, tyres, etc. Kabi b bhool ky cheap gari mat khareedna, market value sy jo gari 5,10 hazar uper mil ri ho generally wo kafi achi condition my hoti hy. Aaisa hi koi peace dhoondna warna rooty reho gy chahy vitz lo ya JOY

if u cant afford Petrol then there is no need to buy vitz, its not designed for CNG, i will recommend u to go for MEHRAN
(1983 to 2013 same shape + worse quality)

Please share that how many KM you travel daily and how often you go for long route.

Also if you want to go for CNG, then Vitz old Model which comes before 2004, is really good. Also look for manual vitz as some times auto vitz pick is very slow on CNG.

Also I recommend you to have a look at City Idsi model 2004-5, this is in same price range of vitz, but it has quite good fuel economy, it easily give 14KM+ in ISB/Pindi on petrol with AC. Maintainance is less than Vitz (Regular parts like air/oil filter are almost same price, but suspension, engine parts are expensive in vitz).

On Top of good fuel average, Idsi engine has quite a good compression ratio due to which if you run it on CNG, you will not find huge difference in power. You will Roughly get 80% power in CNG. And in one tank it easily gives 120+ With AC in City and 140+ w/o AC.

But remember you can get Joy in almost half the price of good Vitz/idsi. So, there is reason why joy is half the price.

Well my daily drive is around 35km . What about Vitz 2008 plus models. How they work in CNG. Some of my friend using diferent cars are going for LPG??? any way still i am confused about it. agar confused hi raha toh i would go for cultus. what u guys recommend. I liked Vitz built and look. But if dont work with CNG . I can also run it on petrol but not daily.

Vehicles equipped with CVT never performs well on CNG,

CNG is highy not recommended for Vitz 2005+ Models, it can cause huge problems like knocking, & at the end itgonna kill the whole transmission.

Old Shape vitz 1999 to 2004 works well on CNG becasue they dont have complex CVT machine
