    Default Vitz Engine Light is always ON on CNG only

    Can any one tell me that Y engine light is always ON on CNG where as it gets OFF on petrol.

    Car is VITZ / 2004 Model
    CNG installed last month
    Rest every thing is fine, no pick or missing problems.

    Does any vitz owner experinced the same thing or any expert can shed light on that.

    @ adnanblue .....

    Its actually belongs to my colleague, i'll ask from colleague and mention the averages here. Just hold on.

    Yesterday i went to my electrician to have some thing else done on my car and i asked the same question and he described the following procedure;

    1-Connvert car on CNG (if its on petrol)
    2- Detach one of the two main battery wires
    3- Switch on the head lights for approx. 10mins
    4- After ten minutes put the battery wire back to normal and switch off the lights
    5- Start the car on CNG and light will be gone.......

    I was laughing at this theory but he said "SIR G WE DID THE SAME THING ON SO MANY VITZ". Per him some electricions get this engine light off through computer and ask 1500-2000 for it (don't know if its right).

    @Eidee

    actually ur machanic is right.Detaching the battery wire for 5-10 mins resets the emulator.I have personally experianced it with my City. But wat i dont understand is ur machinc said..detach wire and then turn on the head lights..:O.wat's the use of turning them on when there is no power in car??
    Qaiser Pal,I have not failed.But found 1 of 10,000 ways which doesn't work.....Toyota driver "I couldn't repair my brakes,so i made my horn louder"..When i was born i was so surprised that i didn't talked to one and half year..since light travel faster then sound,people appear bright until you hear them speak..If u can't convince them,confuse them

    Its the MAF or Oxygen sensor, its basically trying to find the fuel its designed for trying to compensate for it. Since you're feeding it CNG its giving a warning light. Its not rocket science.

    Turning head lights on while battery is disconnected drains any stored current in the circuits. Its a technique to reflash the ecu

    @Eidee

    did u succeed ?

    I mean are you facing check engine light problem or its gone?

    My one used to come a lot, my cng mechanic said, your air filter is very dirty, this light might be appearing becoz of this, so i purchased air filter for 220rs and the check engine light was gone for almost 2 days!

    But, yesterday it appeared again!

    one thing i will say that my check engine light does not come all the time (before air filter removal or after)

    It just comes for sometimes and then goes off!

    Sometimes, i drive almost 90kms with no check engine light on on dashboard!
    what i think is that some connection is loose or the wire is touching the car body (just thinkings..)

    After adopting the whole procedure mentioned above.....the light finally went OFF but what is this after few hours it came back.....OH NO...also for some time soon after this excercise the car used to switched off.
    Also when CNG is full / all four lights are on then check light won't appear and when there remains only two lights of CNG hten this check lights appear again.....

    its the O2 sensor. when on petrol signal from it is correct (0.2-0.8 volts) referring to the lean and rich mixture respectively. when on gas the signal is not correct and therefore the check engine light comes on. you need to install O2 emulator to cater for this. costs 2800 Rs. the light can be reset by putting the negative terminal off for 2 mins. but since the cause is not removed it reappears. but it has no bearing on your engine because it only indicates emissio control problem.
