Default Vitz 05 too heavy on Petrol...Need Help

Recently bought a vitz-05 doesn't have CNG nor do I have budget to buy one. The car is doing 10kmpl with AC in city. Checked by toyota motors visually and he says all is ok...although it was before I found out its fuel consumption....changed oil, oil filter and air filter about two days back. Condition of plugs and fuel filter not known...need urgent help. Please don't divert me to Vitz topic as it has some 160 pages and can'y go through all.

    Dear all,
thanks for your replies and suggestions.
First of all i want amend my main issue i'e my car is heavy on fuel i made a slight error in calc....it costs 10rs a km and not considering the price of petrol i calc it at 10kmpl whereas actually it is doing
    '8 KMPL'

After going thru all the suggestions what i have concluded so far that
1 I should clean plugs.....Will do tomorrow positively
2 Put new air filter.....just replaced but it is of Guard company
    3 Using zic oil synthetic....
4 Clean sesor near air cleaner....will be done tomorrow
    5. tyres are brand new and stock size 165/70/14 Yokohama and pressure is 30 i guess but not less
    6. Visit the mechanic in Islamabad...I am plannig to go to Pindi next month Insha-Allah i will surely visit him

It gave me 17 on highway at speeds between 120 and 140 on AC from lahore to multan. No idling or other engine tuning issues.

    @ s4di877

Can you please explain about the sensor at left of the air filter and the buffer in exhaust pipe.

What is ECU and where I can find that in my Vitz.

    Thank you.

    Dear Naweed,

Before getting your ride tunned or getting its throttle body washed just consider those few points i told you. You might save some money.
and yea you are running your car on petrol guard filter will be as good as any other one dont worry about it.
    1. just put tyre pressure 30 Psi in all of'em
    2. First check your plugs if they are black only then you need to get your ride tuned if they are in pink color your ride does'nt need tunning.
while reading the posts from all the members some one wrote he uses his ride with 40 or 45 Psi no offence to that member but i would strongly recommend not to do that in any case because you want to stop your ride as well once you started running it dont you ? Plus if bought a luxury hatch back so please enjoy it too putting in 40 or 45 PSi will make it run like a ghada gari (us main isliye 45 psi hoti hai kay ghaday par load nahi aye )

    @aantherax
Thanks dear for the advice....here is what i did today

Cleaned the plugs they were rust coloured and no carbon...still cleaned them

Found throttle body/sys on left of airclaner and opened and cleaned it had quite some carbon so i washed it with petrol...

tyre pressure is 30 and do not intend to inc or decrease it

lastly one more thing i discovered that air intake pipe of air cleaner doesn't give any suction on idle or even with some RPM.....this came as a mystery to me....my next mission is to find out if it a design perimeter or air is directly going in from some other point....may be air cleaner did fit back on its seat....

I went to Nazir today. Every one was at off but in a slight discussion with the Owner , he advised me to Get the CNG off since the Heads get blown up. He scared me.. 10 Rs per Km is some thing too high for me. who got mileage of atleast 50-70km / Day.

Ok guy’s thanks for suggesting to lower air pressure. May be if everybody is saying; I should compromise and lower it to 37PSI. You have more experience of local conditions than I have. Sometimes try to fill it up to 40PSI and feel for yr self what happens? Cheers!

    @ RAJPOOT

ECU is ELECTRONIS CONTROLLER UNIT is ki port dashboard kay neeche hoti hai fuse jahaa hotey hain.....professional mechanics have computer 2 chk all ur sensors with the help of it.... computr shows if thres a problem in any sensor... but mostly throttle body sensor need 2 b washd by petrol r thre is a special liquid, when the sensor is not cleand (coverd with dust) the car strts knocking n cars milage reduces.....
n secondly u was askin abt buffer it is in the exaust pipe which leads 2 the silencer, wot i think is u should get rid f that thing if u r in Pakistan, if u r in Japan r Uk u don't need 2 do such kind f things.....this is all abt our patrol here in Pakistan quality is not good n HOBC can b compard by othr countries patrol otherwise it shouldn't b.....wo bhi khaasa nai hai.....partrol acha hoga gari achi chaley gi warna bus haar month tunning tunning....

    Dear Naweed,

Your does'nt need any tunning b/c of the plug condition you told me now that you have washed the sensor your self considering this point in mind i guess you could easily wash the throttle body too. Keep in mind b4 washing it that you know how to set up the RPM b/c right after washing of throttle body your RPMs will shoot up and then you'll be needing to lower'em. One more thing instead of washing your throttle body with petrol use Carb Cleaner spray will cost 100Rs after that im 100 % sure that your are gonna get good outcome from your ride (Y)

ok..here is the latest update....my car is now doing between 13-14km/l in city nostly without ac. now iam planning to get it computer checked for minor adjustments plus i may install an oil filled air cleaner just to see the effect..i think it would give a lot of difference but then it is my own view....

I'll further update as things progress still 13km/l is good enough...thanks to all who helped

The Vitz 2005, engine code 1KR FE, is Euro IV generation, this car has a catalaytic convertor in exhaust pipe, get it checked, leaded fuel can damage it and after that it will not perform well..
