    Default Cold Vitz..!!

    hey guyz,

i have a vitz 2001 automatic & its facing a problem.. in cold whether like of these dayz when i start my car on PETROL usally in morning, engine dont run properly, it produces a sound like phak,, phak,, phak like dat of a 2-STROKE engine and even if i accelerate it in Neutral the engine only produces sonds but no proper resoponse on its RPM and if i switch the gear to D or R engine turns off.. On CNG it all do the same & my car also shakes...

To solve this problem i have already,
    changed its fuel filter,
    removed the CAT converter,
changed all Oils & air filter,
tunned engine several times on both CNG % PETROL,
and other side works,,,, but of no use...

Daily i have to leave the engine running for 7-8 minutes,, until its blue light of cold engine goes off... AFTER that engine runs fine, no sound & perfect accleration...

Again if i start it after 2-3 hours from engine OFF it do all again...

Dont know whats the matter with it so i need suggestions from some experts...

Looking forward Storm to help me out...

    Thanx in advance...

which engine oil are you using? In winters, oils with less vicosity work better.
Qaiser Pal,I have not failed. But found 1 of 10,000 ways which doesn't work.....Toyota driver "I couldn't repair my brakes,so i made my horn louder"..When i was born i was so surprised that i didn't talked to one and half year..since light travel faster then sound, people appear bright until you hear them speak..If u can't convince them, confuse them

Cold engine light should disappear after about 2 minutes from start in Vitz. May be u are using high viscosity oil; also check the tapits as suggested above. Good luck

wrong. modern cars/oils dont need extensive warm up. i use synthetic oil and crank the car and start driving even if it is 0 degrees

i know it'll sound silly but have you tried getting the air flow sensor cleaned/checked. it's p;ossible that it is not sending a correct reading to the ECU which is causing the fuel mixture to be off which is leading to this issue.

alternatively the thermostat valve should be checked (like ap2aum said), plugs cleaned & correctly gapped, fuel & air filters changed, fuel pump replaced and car reset (as awais_tallal said).

    let us know what happens.

Don't know about VITZ but in petrol V6 Audi's, BMWs Straight 6 (petrol) and Mercs 6 cylinder (all petrol) do that sometimes also because when you switch on the engine in cold and switch it off in cold, the engine sprays some kind of coolent onto injectors, due to the fact engine it cold already, that coolent won't dry off and result is that next time you try to start the car, it won't start. Even if it does start, it will shake for 3-4 mins. Try changing injectors or something. Don't know if it's the same problem with VITZ but have had that problem with our family BMW sometimes. Have to take the plugs out and clean then off for a clear spark, put back in and then the car starts fine but does shake for a bit...

That's my side of the story...

Efi engines does'nt need 3 - 4 minutes of warm up time they just need 10 seconds (read in an owner's manuall of toyotta) you sould take your ride to your nearest Toyota 3S they are gonna sort it out.

Whenever you do any modifications in your car; it is important to disconnect the negative (-) terminal of battery to reset the ECU of the car. As you installed CNG, you must reset the ECU by removing negative terminal for about 3 minutes. Try this before doing anything else. Your problem could be solved like this. 8-|
