    hate to break the news to you but the chances are that your car had a bad gearbox to start with. also it's possible that the installation of CNG wasn't very good. Clearly you had the CNG fit on, and clearly it was a bad job,.. what did you expect? i know of many vitz's which have had CNG for over 3 years and they are running fine.

    please avoid such generral ramblings, it's not the cars fault, it's the installation.

    For a solution, go to sultan ke kuh and get replacement (kabli) parts and have them installed.

    Yes, it is true in all automatic transmission vehicle, transmission oil and as well as its filter must be changed after a specified interval of time mentioned in owner's manual.

    in the vitz i suggest you got it changed as soon as you got the car because there was no guarantee on the milage (most cars are clocked back). usually the interval is 60000km.

    @storm

    Do we need to replace the transmission oil after 60K or just top it as is usually done for gear oil? What about cleaning of this filter inside the transmission? I have a 2005 vitz 1.0 L Auto.

    I am surprised at the discussion that is taking place.. I think it should be common sense to follow the service intervals and steps stipulated by the manufacturer in the owners manual

    it should be common sense to follow the service intervals and steps stipulated by the manufacturer in the owners manualvery true...it is quite easy to follow the manual but i am not sure if you are aware or not that owner's manual are quite rare for these imported ones.

    A surprising issue...gear box damaged...i m afraid u mite have to go for the replacement either..

    and as storm has suggested its an installation problem, might be due to poor installation of cng kit....get it checked as well

    most likely u would need to get the Transmission overhauled.

    Auto Transmissions are built well and hence are even more durable and longer lasting than manual transmissions. In majority of the cases, engine wears out well before the transmission needs any work.

    The Auto transmission failure is the result of abuse, not changing transmission filter and fluid on time and Improper Alteration.

    The Auto Transmissions can handle CNG Kits. The problem occurs when the kit is installed improperly or when the parts are not genuine or if the kit is not for the car.

    For example a CNG kit for a corolla is diferent from that of a Honda and incorrect installation would certainly cause problems, accelerated wear and tear and in worse case scenerios, out right failure.
