This is the second time that i'm having a vitz 05 shape. here is brief outline of my experience of its fuel consumption

-- If your car is fully tuned it will give you between 16 to 19kmpl on high way depending on you driving speed. Ideal speed for good fuel average is between 80-90 kmph. These stats are without the use of ac, with ac deduct 2 kmpl approx

-- In city it will give you between 10 to 16 kmpl depending on your driving habits and traffic conditions. No traffic jams and keeping a light food on accelerator you'll get 15-16kmpl and a heavy foot with too many traffic jams or red lights and you'll get as low as 10-11kmpl. Again the use of ac not included.

-- I am of the opinion that fuel average within city varies from person to person so it can't be quoted as a fixed value

-- The fuel tank capacity is 42 litres but if you want to fill it to the brim than it might take in another 4-5 litres

-- Last fuel light on my car comes up when 7-8 litres are still in tank but this varies in every other car

btw, till now i am confused abt its auto trans system, when to put it on 'S' nd when to 'D' :p

Use "S" when you dont want to lose acceleration gain. In S mode, car dont lose momentum, on highways use this mode. "S" is not fuel efficient and give 4 gear power where "D" is most commonly and fuel efficient mode, use in city traffic

    1.0L vitz
    poor fuel economy
poor performance (Engine runs in loaded form)
    carbon in the exhaust
    Need some hi octane
    Knocking . . .
    under powered
3 cylinders makes horrible noise like a Diesel Engine
Mileage 11 to 13 Km/L with AC in City
Pakistan fuel grade is not suitable for 3cyl vitz thats y they do Knoking like hell

    1.3L vitz
    Gud fuel economy
    Gud performance
no carbon junks in the exhaust pipe
no Need to add hi octane
    No Knocking . . .
    powerful Engine (2NZ-FE 4WD, 2SZ-FE 2WD)
4 cylinders makes the Engine very smooth & noiseless
Mileage 15 to 16 Km/L with AC in City

    I own 1.3L vitz 2008, i highly recommend u to go for 1.3L, 1.0L (3 cyl) sucks full time
if u want economy then stay away from 4WD 1.3L vitz they simply drinks fuel.

I have vitz 2007 1kr fe engine. And also done everything for getting better economy but not getting more then 11 without ac and 10 with ac. Still trying to get it better. But yet unlucky. Using high octane with super with ratio of 40 50. Anyone who sorted out this issue please advise. Will be very grateful.

Hopefully O2 sensor is faulty, O2 sensor plays a critical role in mileage,
Paki fuel grade is not suitable for poor 3 cylinder 1000cc Vitz (if u dont believe in my words then put ur finger in Exhaust pipe & see how much carbon particles r there)
