Default Volkswagen Club of Pakistan (VWCOP)

Lets all contribute pics and memories to this timeless classic that has faithfully served generations. It is my 1st car memory and my dad who is a Beetle enthusiast at one time had a total of 4 beetles in our garage Here's a little history of this miraculous German wonder: 'The history of the Beetle really goes back to pre 2nd world war Germany when Ferdinand Porsche had a vision of a mass produced vehicle that was affordable to the average German, an idea that was shared with the young Adolf Hitler who himself could not drive, but was a car fanatic. Hitler was apparently influenced by the achievements of Henry Ford and his production lines - reading Ford's biography while in prison during 1923. Porsche had previously worked on some other small cars that used many elements later to be included in the Beetle. The Type 32 prototype NSU of 1934 was an air-cooled rear engined four cylinder horizontally opposed powered car that used torsion bar suspension and featured beetle-like styling.' --- source - Google.co.uk lets keep the posts rolling - add pics of bugs you've owned or own! I'll add my dad's bug family pics as well ... I guess he fell in love with this oddly shaped car after he drove it down to Pakistan from Germany!!!! .. stories of that wonderous journey keep us entertained whenever our family gets together

This is one hard to find item, hardly is offered for sale online. I have been able to locate may be a couple of these on The Samba in all the previous years. I am sure Chris would have much more such hard to find goodies stashed away. B/w did he have the NOS running boards?

in mercedes late models.. they are called the Z-Links
they are made of plastic and once u corner at a good speed

and if the Z-Links are missing, there is a clear tailing feeling and big TUCK TUCK TUCK sound as well

    Default The Wheel Cap.......

Volkswagen Club of Pakistan VWCOP -304327

It looked nice too. Mind you, it has a plastic coating on top so not shiny enough but ....... I wonder how hard it would be to maintain. My bug still has its original caps on it ...... I wonder if these would last for the life of the car .... but looked nice anyways ....

VW Parts are meant to last...do we still need a proof of that? After 46yrs, the chrome on the hubcaps that came with Patina is still all there...no rust no sign of pittings but only at the spots where the hubcaps received some beating. All you have to do is to give some love to your bug, be it 50yrs old vintage or this new shiny whiny modern 2012.

You bet its going to last on this one for the years to come, provided was given some love.

before we get carried away ..... these are plastic and the one's on our bugs are not. I've used my car and cared for it and the parts on it have lasted the life of the car. Don't get me wrong I don't doubt it but these are plastic !

Haven't you heard about the umbrella ...... if you keep it away from sun and rain it'll last you a life time ..... that's not the sort of love I give to my cars!

One of the wildest restorations I have ever seen in the history of VWs. Every detail is just too small for the restorer to get it right perfectly. Whoever said Impossible was nothing, was right!

    Where is the dislike button?

Sorry pal, but I aint gonna believe that unless @romano comes announce it himself.

President of VWCOP is rightly a VW purist and I wouldn't believe he would do anything non-stock to his bug. And even if he is upto something non-stock, I would like him to reconsider because that sends a negative vibe down the ranks.
