Default Volkswagen Club of Pakistan (VWCOP)

Lets all contribute pics and memories to this timeless classic that has faithfully served generations. It is my 1st car memory and my dad who is a Beetle enthusiast at one time had a total of 4 beetles in our garage Here's a little history of this miraculous German wonder: 'The history of the Beetle really goes back to pre 2nd world war Germany when Ferdinand Porsche had a vision of a mass produced vehicle that was affordable to the average German, an idea that was shared with the young Adolf Hitler who himself could not drive, but was a car fanatic. Hitler was apparently influenced by the achievements of Henry Ford and his production lines - reading Ford's biography while in prison during 1923. Porsche had previously worked on some other small cars that used many elements later to be included in the Beetle. The Type 32 prototype NSU of 1934 was an air-cooled rear engined four cylinder horizontally opposed powered car that used torsion bar suspension and featured beetle-like styling.' --- source - Google.co.uk lets keep the posts rolling - add pics of bugs you've owned or own! I'll add my dad's bug family pics as well ... I guess he fell in love with this oddly shaped car after he drove it down to Pakistan from Germany!!!! .. stories of that wonderous journey keep us entertained whenever our family gets together

Id like to support Romano's 'lecture' on lack of enthusiasm for VW rescues.

Speaking of which, was the white 64 picked up by Reezvan or not?? I got a call from the scrappie saying he has 64 bug bits......Pl, pl tell me its not what I think it is???

VWs are getting *very* hard to find now, thanks to our kabaria bhais. These days me trying to find a VW for someone but the pool seems to have dried up faster than we expected.
If there are no Beetles in heaven, Im not going!!!

The Type 2 flat bed is real. A bay window crew cab to be precise.
A beautiful vehicle to have and seems to be in pretty good nick too but I hear the asking price is 400,000 which is a bit out of my pocket for now so did not follow up. Vehicle is in Lahore. I have not the phone number of the owner neither have I checked if this really is the car up for sale. I can however provide email id and phone number of the informant to the interested. He knows where it is and claims to have seen it. Attached are the pictures... Vacuum cleaner not included

Also, a few inquiries over the past few months if I knew of a 1600 engine for sale. Heard from Papu Rawalpindi who claims to have 2 1600 engines for sale run solely as generators. both have been overhauled recently and only the crank is at 0.25 all other is at standard as claimed by him. Engines are located in FSD one with 8mm engine casing bolts, the other with 10mm bolts. try your luck...believe nothing till you open the engine and see firsthand what is within.

he as promised me at least a dozen things till now which are said to be some one out of city and he will get them for me

Wade Page promoted extremism even in Army | Deccan Chronicle

"Among other things, Page not only had racist tattoos, but also drove a Volkswagen Thing, a boxy vehicle resembling a Nazi Staff car, that he repainted from orange to red. With white trim and black tires, it mirrored the colours of the Nazi flag."

    1965 Volkswagen Beetle for sale

Here is a '65 VW Beetle Type 1 up for grabs in running condition. The vehicle belongs to an uncle's who's daughter used it as a daily driver. It is in pretty good shape as far as the body and engine is concerned. The engine is a 1200 economy. The 115 chassis number states it's a '65. Reason for selling is that the uncles daughter is going aboard for further studies.

    Registration number: A-4909

    Pro's and con's:

    Pros:

    - Solid body
    - Running condition
    - Engine runs and sounds great
    - Original interior
    - Complete documentation
    - Original registration plates
    - Original Bosch and Hella headlamp lenses
    - Original front and rear seats
    - Information plate is available but not fitted

    Cons:

    - The frame head is bent
    - It's currently running on LPG
    - Toyota Corolla Levin steering wheel assembly
    - Taxes have not been paid since 2009

The Bug has been inspected by Dr Asad himself, if someone needs to ask further questions he/she may do so.

    Price: 60,000/-

Location: The workshop where my Beetle is at, Sindhi Muslim society near Bandoo Khan.

    Contact: Harry, 0345-2193733

This Beetle HAS potential, one can even use it as a daily driver just as the uncles daughter was using it. I would recommend this Bug to someone who's looking for a cheap daily runner or as a cheap restoration project. You don't get pre-'67's at this price nowadays. We don't want to see another pre-67 being chopped up now, do we?

    Hi @all
am new to this thread, however appreciate the enthusiasm and helping attitude of the members.
Today went around Karachi on a preliminary reconnaissance for a bug. Met two mechs, Zarif in Liaquatabad and Rahim on jehangir road. Rahim tried to sell me a 1302 for 100k, and the baby was in shambles, according to the legend (rahim) it just required bodywork n interior redo. I just checked the pulley wheel on the engine and it had a play. He said he had built the engine himself 6 months ago n it was in perfect shape! The seats were from some long dead jap car, but in pathetic shape too.Saw him working. . .err. . .ba***rd**ing a 1303 with 'civic' headlights and engine and he was proud of it!!!!
I may not return to him, hopefully. Says he charges 250k to 300k for a resto n saw with my own eyes, body edges coming off and putty hidden inside showing in some of his masterpieces.
Zareef quoted some lesser rates for mech and other work. The strange thing is that both of these above characters 'dislike' body-off resto and say what is the need??
    The search has begun. . . . .
