Default Volkswagen Club of Pakistan (VWCOP)

Lets all contribute pics and memories to this timeless classic that has faithfully served generations. It is my 1st car memory and my dad who is a Beetle enthusiast at one time had a total of 4 beetles in our garage Here's a little history of this miraculous German wonder: 'The history of the Beetle really goes back to pre 2nd world war Germany when Ferdinand Porsche had a vision of a mass produced vehicle that was affordable to the average German, an idea that was shared with the young Adolf Hitler who himself could not drive, but was a car fanatic. Hitler was apparently influenced by the achievements of Henry Ford and his production lines - reading Ford's biography while in prison during 1923. Porsche had previously worked on some other small cars that used many elements later to be included in the Beetle. The Type 32 prototype NSU of 1934 was an air-cooled rear engined four cylinder horizontally opposed powered car that used torsion bar suspension and featured beetle-like styling.' --- source - Google.co.uk lets keep the posts rolling - add pics of bugs you've owned or own! I'll add my dad's bug family pics as well ... I guess he fell in love with this oddly shaped car after he drove it down to Pakistan from Germany!!!! .. stories of that wonderous journey keep us entertained whenever our family gets together

Yes they're intact, but have been repaired and one of them has broken edge. I will send the up-close pictures before dispatching.

Today's drive may be a wet one! if your windscreen wipers are less than 100%, use Nasir Shaikh's cut potato totka, or, for a more long lasting effect, give the windscreen a wipe of Rain-X. I am happy to apply a coat of this miracle product, to anyone who can get to my house by 3pm. This product cannot be applied to a wet screen, so NO chance of doing it out in the Faisal mosque car park. We will have to apply it to a dry windscreen (under my front porch), it takes all to two minutes to apply.Read more about Rain-X at: Rain-X - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    2. 1969-1971, also known as VW 1300.
    3. As stated in 2.
    4. I get around 12 km/l in Karachi.
    7. Expect to pay around 50k at least.
    8. At least 200k.
    9. Depends on model and condition. Selling a car after you restore it will be a loss on your part.
But the question is, will it do a burnout?

I would suggest you to choose a color as per correct year/model of your Bug which will actually suit on your bug. Volkswagen color codes are little bit difficult to find but you must try for the correct ones.

Can you please guide me in keeping the above.

So I think you've chosen almost right shade as per your model/year because Poppy Red is nearest to Phoenix Red which is one of the correct color shade for 73 Bug.

signal red would be nice as it is a Porsche colour and is a SOLID colour. however it's best to stick to a colour which is easily made and sprayed in PK so speak to your local paint shop before making a final decision.

A senior club member was looking for a project super beetle and we found him one. Please be warned that this is not for the faint hearted. The car would require extensive work and sourcing of parts. It may be a few years before this baby is back on the road.

It took the muscle power of about a dozen guys to bring the car out of its resting place. Once outside the tight corner it was loaded onto the waiting flat bed. the car is full of junk but that is a challenge for another day.
