Actually, they have an alternate to advertisements (to increase their sales). They rather focus on making crappy products. The more they rip a car apart, the better number of sales.
We have XLi everywhere now a days. Yesterday I saw 11 XLi's in a line in one showroom. XLi's are selling like Mehrans, why? More price, crappy package!
People don't want ABS or even Power windows (let alone ABS).
They want crap and that's what Pakistani Automakers are guarantying.
But then looking at it realistically, they rip a car apart to make it affordable for people here. Honda City with full specs costs around 22 grand. That's about 1.8 Million PKR.
No body would buy city even if it had everything for 1.8 mn. So I guess Pakistani automakers are kind of forced to do what they are doing.
