1. ## Horse Power details of Yamaha Bikes

Hi, everyone!!

I just searched online that how to convert Torque into BHP and BHP into torque

Here is a link to this usefull info: Puma Race Engines Technical Guide - Power and Torque - how they are related and how to calculate them

And using above info i also calculated BHP of Yamaha bikes. Only torque info was given there.

Yamaha Royale : 11.16 BHP , Tourque 9.02 N.m. @ 6500Rpm

Yamaha Junoon & Yama 4 : 10.39 BHP , Tourque 8.4 N.m. @ 6500Rpm

DYL Dhoom : 5.14 BHP , Tourque 5.4 N.m. @ 5000Rpm

Honda didnot provide any power info of their bikes on their site, so cant compare them sadly!

for calculation 1st you have to convert torque Nm to Lb/Ft then you can make correct calculation
check it
Torque and horsepower relations:
T = HP * 5252 / RPM
HP = T * RPM / 5252
RPM = HP * 5252 / T
* Torque values are in foot pounds
and Yamaha YB100 max power(DIN)= 9.1 PS @ 7000 rpm and max torque is 0.92 Kg.f.m @ 6500rpm torque 0.92 Kg.f.m it is equal to 9.02 Nm and if we convert it to Lb/Ft then it will be 6.65 Lb / Ft and max power 9.1 Ps is equal to 8.97 HP and calculations saya all

T = 8.97*5252/7000=6.73006
Hp = 6.73006*7000/5252=8.97
Rpm = 8.97*5252/6.73006=7000

Yamaha Rx115 has 15.5 PS @8500 rpm equal to 15.287 hp and max torque 1.35kg.m it is equal to 9.764 Lb/Ft
T = 15.287*5252/8500=9.445
Hp = 9.445*8500/5252=15.287
Rpm = 15.287*5252/9.445=8500.51

12. 1 horsepower (electric) =746 watts
1 horsepower (hp)(metric,DIN,PS) 735.4988 watts
1 horsepower (hp)(U.K.) 745.7 watts

wht do u say will the specs will must change if one increase thr rpm from @8500 to @10000 rpm
i meant will the HP INCREASE?

Conceptually, that's correct
HP is directly proportional to torque and RPM
