    Thumbs up Yamaha to invest $150million in Pakistan

    This is the latest and confirmed news. I heard the news on GEO and also came across this LINK

    I see it as a prologue to an entirely new era in "motor biking" in Pakistan. For the first time Yamaha will locally manufacture bike from 125 to 150cc range, plus the bikes will be featured with EFi technology.

    Lets hope they bring something according to the desires of the biker's community.

    jo koi bhi yamaha 125 lene ka sooch rahe hai unse request hai ke bhai
    jo bhi de lena ab khaale headlight ka issue na banaana mujhe visor waali
    pasand nahein mujhe round light waale chahiye ya kaash yeh waali deti
    woh waali deti ab bhala itne saalon se atlas honda waale sirf sticker de rahe the

    tab toh sab khushi se le lete thi naya model aaya hai bhaage bhaage sab lete hai


    jo yamaha lene ka sooch rahe hai aur paka eraada rakhte hai unko mein buhat appreciate
    karta hon kiyonke woh sab log change ko support kar rahe hai par ek request ab yeh chote
    mote bahaane mat banaana jo cheez bhi aaege ek baat toh saaf es decades old atlas honda
    se achi hogi

    here where people go wrong way on road on 70cc motorcycle to save 2 rupees of fuel because next u turn is 200 mtrs away, where riders on 70cc motorcycle is asking their ustad mechanic how to make his motorcycle give 80+ average on 1ltr of fuel.
    btw cars by indus motor pakistan enjoy being on ron 87 fuel , honda have issue of severe knocking on 87 ron fuel also jdms.
    i had owned city/axio/swift in past and all have knocking issue on regular fuel unless hi octane is mixed with regular fuel.

    mehran should be scraped long long time ago it ain't worth being on road legal for to being a safety/feature less car.

    ever wondered why these boys with latest imported suzuki/kawasaki/honda/harleys with larger capacity engine only take them out at week ends or on car shows only?. where in rest of the world they are considered to be daily commuter rides.
    i am not against efi but i strongly believe we are way too late in occupying efi tech in motorcycles, efi yamaha motorcyle will be good edition to our local motorcycle scene but it will certainly not a killer for carb motorcycle.

    u got it bang on, efi can be a good addition to yamaha lineup but it will not cause any more damage to CG sales, we people are talking about efi but here in pak people are rejecting bikes for having plastic on them.

    This is because we lag behind everything.We think like stone age era and like to live in stone age.If i had been a minister i would have shoved a rule in local producer's *** that a model cant be continued for more than 5-6 years.WE the people and government collectively are responsible for technology stagnation in Pakistan.

    Bhai awam ghareeb hai. Simple. Motorcycle buyers are mostly poor and lower middle class. Hum hi hain jo shauk say chalatay hen, no one will buy efi. It makes no business sense to introduce it. No one cares about 'new technology'. What exactly will a 125cc efi bike do? Go to 300km/h? Do u know how much a fuel injection system will cost in case the one in ur bike goes wrong? I totally agree with archon, efi wont cut it here. We need more ccs rather than a useless feature no one cares about. Efi is just a word for 99% of the awam, it doesnt mean anything

    Almost all PW members would like to have a EFI system but Yamaha would target the market so they will consider some robust, hathoora mechanic friendly, cheap bike. To me even a bike similar to Piaggio will cause less sales for Yamaha.
    Sab dhoondh walay toot paray gy Yamaha py agar koi CG jaisa model launch ho gya werna YBR launch kiya to dhoodh wali market b gaee. :p
    So the point is if Yamaha wants to do some business they will stay away from efi and plastic but if they want to come up with change than we will have both efi and plastic but with a huge price tag.

    i still believe that these three models are best for our market and may be they will put efi system in blue one but i hope they don't.

    We don't require EFI either as it increases bike's cost which is a crucial factor, also it results in no power gain which again is a crucial factor.

    Believe me they would be flop as this is common internet era now and people are very much educated and aware now. Initially Yamaha should launch the below two models;

    Yamaha STX - to cater the needs of lower income people

    Yamaha FZ16 - to cater the wants of middle income people

    yup both bikes can go very well with the needs of the market
    Stx can be a CG killer.
    FZ16 will be quite expensive but it will get good sales as its a stunning looking bike.

    Why would YBR launch will be flop? Is it because of top speed or fuel average as compared to currently available local brands?

    Yamaha STX (Super Taxi) seems a better choice though as its also super gas saver and is claimed to be:

    "STX, the complete economical motorcycle that gives extended mileage and riding pleasure. Its 125cc, 4-stroke engine, strong frame, attrative design and long seat makes it the most comfortable and durable motorcycle that meets all your needs.

    Because neither it fulfills the requirement of customers who are looking for an economical bike nor it fulfills the requirements of the enthusiasts who are looking for power and speed, they would say why should we buy a bike which is costlier and also slower than CG classic ? but if Yamaha price YBR at Rs. 100,000 than it can give tough time to CG to some extent.
