Default Yamaha to set up motorcycle plant in Pakistan: Approved :)

ISLAMABAD - Chairman, Board of Investment (BoI) Mohammad Zubair said the approval of Economic Coordination Committee to allow Yamaha to set up modern motorcycle plant in Karachi would boost foreign investment in the country.
?Yamaha had been trying to get this approval which involved very complex issues since 2009. Just within two months after assuming the charge of Chairman BoI, I have been able to get this done with 100 per cent transparency resolving several complex stages?, Mohammad Zubair said in a statement issued here on Sunday.
He said getting a major international brand in such difficult times is a credit of the present PML-N government and is a great news for the country.

yes obviously ... people in ahl and suzuki would be shting in their pants right now ... there's no way they can compete the giant... cause this time Yamaha doing it all in the right way and not for only their profits, but the greater good of our economy too ..

1st .. they are now operating directly,no partner ship or third party crap ... strict rules, no quality issues ..

2nd... there would be no cheap tactics like importing few CBU or new stickers with centuries old engine...yamaha already made it clear ... all the bikes will be made locally with euroII, III complaint engines while bringing the latest tech. in pakistan itself ... hence the local vendors, technician and mechanics will be trained too ...

3rd .. they will spent 150 million dollars in next 5 years on latest tech.,production,training.... the investment is expected to create 45,000 jobs and promote ancillary industries and they will also export these locally built unit not vice versa, which was never done before, it will help the down to drain economy too ....

about time, yes it will take 3,4 years but the change will be magnificent ... the REVOLUTION in bike industry is coming..... time to feast my friends ... i better start saving the damn money now ...

Forget the F or the R series, we live in dark ages.
True that! They can't just go on to launch all those stylish and sporty models in excitement; they will have to think rationally according to Pakistan's GDP or PCI (Per Capita Income).

This is great news indeed, though I am doubtful that this whole range may be manufactured in Pakistan, maybe after some years though.

ISLAMABAD: Board of Investment Chairman Muhammad Zubair announced that the new government gave the permission to Yamaha Company to establish a new bike plant in Karachi the operation will start in December 2014.
Zubair praised the new government and said he applied the request in 2009 but the old government didn’t give him the license to operate, they got the approval within 3 months to invest $150 million in the 5 years.
He further said that Yamaha’s decision to establish a bike plant in Pakistan will attract foreign investors and improve the growth of the local Industry. Both of these steps will strengthen the economy of Pakistan, but in order to improve the local Industry must introduce new technology. This move will boost the foreign brands to invest in our country.
