    interesting project.

i was reading the DIY projects in Bikes for Honda mostly & thought no one is in Yamaha now a days.

I have 1, of my dad, he wanted to sale it as my family got the feeling i drive too fast. but im holding it for now...

anyways, i was thinking to do some minor modifications to it, or if it can be revived properly, so searched for the Yamaha threads...

i wud definitely get some pointers from u & @
vickytulla & others in this league wen i plan to start.

    Good luck for ur pj...

Is the tank sitting flush on the frame?..... I mean from the picture I can clearly see a good gap between the frame and the tank means its not touching the frame..... there is suppose to be a rubber bush on either side..... with a different tank the mounting position have to change too.

tank mounts of yb and cg are different , yb has cuts on frame and rubber bushes are fixed on the tank , once slided in to cut gets firm , cg has cuts on tank and bushes on frame . thats the difference . khair will do some thing

Don't you think that the riding position will put more strains on your arms and upper body ?

I have only worked on hondas and they all have mounts on the frame .... I believe its the other way around for Yamaha. Nothing you cant sort out...... Just make sure the tank is pushed down as much as possible.

How many handlebars do you have dude?
The earlier ones looked really cool though however if its not comfortable and the handling issue waqar pointed out I think you made the right call...... I might have stayed with the earlier handlebars ...... really liked them.

What about these GTO handlebars? I personally think the handlebars you have installed currently is a bit too mainstream. Many CG owners have the same setup.

    LOL.
I do have a lot of stuff laying around but no one at my house usually complains..... actually my father himself have collected quite a bit of junk himself.... his stuff is usually household while mine is automotive. A junky understands another junky therefore my father never complains.

However When I started the Bobber project and I took all my stuff out in the openand it was then my father realized how much stuff I have collected and he asked me to organize it and store it properly..... which I didnt do bcoz I knew if I let it be there he will do it for me and he did as expected.

These look real niceeee! They give a stretched look to the bike. high rise handlebars kind of make the bike look smaller.
