    ======================================
    SOHC VS OHC engine

OHC means OverHead Cam in general, while SOHC means Single OverHead Cam or Single Cam.
In a SOHC engine the camshaft is installed in the cylinder head and valves are operated either by the rocker arms or directly through the lifters (as in the picture).
The main advantage of an OHC design is that valves are operated almost directly by the camshaft, which makes it easier to maintain precise timing at higher RPMs. It's also possible to install three or four valves per cylinder. For example, Honda successfully uses the SOHC design in its late V6 engines where 4 valves per cylinder are operated by a single camshaft. See the Acura TL 3.2L 24-valve SOHC V6 engine in the second photo (Acura is Honda's luxury vehicle division).
The main disadvantage of an OHC or SOHC engine is that it requires a timing belt or chain with related components, such as tensioners and guides to run the camshaft(s). This means higher production cost and more complex design. A timing belt needs to be replaced at regular intervals, typically every 60,000-120,000 miles, which adds to maintenance costs. A timing chain can last longer, but it is sensitive to regular maintenance: if engine oil is not changed regularly, a timing chain stretches and wears out.

I still fail to see the point of this bike in a market like ours. How many people in Pakistan like to go on adventures on their motorcycles? The segment would be very small. Why is Yamaha targeting small segments of the market and not the average rider who wants a decent motorcycle for every day office routine but cannot afford more than a 100000?

Anyway good luck with this bike. This is the first of its kind in Pakistan, i hope it impresses people who actually do like to go on of road tours and push their machines to the maximum. @vickytulla

very nice looking motorcycle i have only one complain they should have launched it with spokes
and with this price would have remain lesser than ybr sport & off road is good with spokes

IceCold brother what wrong in variety its good they are launching bike of every type
there is ybr-z model which is general daily use motorcycle for pakistani people they can
easily ride with 3 people and take ammi sis etc bro i was asking for that model too a friend
of mine told me who is yamaha dealer he said they are not launching it now because they want
these models to make a market a bit as they are of different type motorcycles yamaha is pretty
much confident on ybr-z sales so they are not launching it now as if they had launched it very first
ybr sport & off road would have been neglected by people

bro some difference are obvious YBR-G has advantage of better performance & comfort on Off-Road
You can visit yamaha website compare the features engine wise they are same but difference is there
in suspension and other tweaks that suits off road

but that does not mean ybr-g is not suitable to ride on road it will perform same good on road but has some
advantages that makes it combination of both On Road & Off-Road Machine

Nothing wrong in the variety. My point is that they are targeting a rather small segment of the market and not the other one which can be a really huge segment. Average people also want change but a change that they can afford and also one that is practical for every day use.
They had launched the top end product which is gaining market as i can tell you about Lahore every day i see at least 3 to 4 YBR in DHA, Cantt and Garden town area so the sales have definitely gone up, they should now try to focus and capture CG-125 market segment within a price bracket of 100000. Let Honda face the heat so that they could too get off from their lazy asses and actually bring in a change in that ancient technology But apparently as you said Yamaha does not seem to be in the mood just yet.

Brother top lines in your post proves yamaha strategy seems right

but i don't agree last line in your post think bro why would yamaha want honda to
get off from their lazy asses infact they would want honda remains stick to their decade
old motorcycles honda thinks yamaha plans for new motorcycles would fail but on the other
hand yamaha struggling and efforting to bring change in market and change sick minds of people

YBR-Z would be launched a in year its an very good replacement for cg125 lets just hope here Yamaha
price it exactly same as cg125 or even few k less than cg125 that will really force people think and people
with some sense would think of buying yamaha 125 with latest tech and important feature like electric start

at the moment biggest problem for yamaha is expensive parts
