    ======================================
    SOHC VS OHC engine

OHC means OverHead Cam in general, while SOHC means Single OverHead Cam or Single Cam.
In a SOHC engine the camshaft is installed in the cylinder head and valves are operated either by the rocker arms or directly through the lifters (as in the picture).
The main advantage of an OHC design is that valves are operated almost directly by the camshaft, which makes it easier to maintain precise timing at higher RPMs. It's also possible to install three or four valves per cylinder. For example, Honda successfully uses the SOHC design in its late V6 engines where 4 valves per cylinder are operated by a single camshaft. See the Acura TL 3.2L 24-valve SOHC V6 engine in the second photo (Acura is Honda's luxury vehicle division).
The main disadvantage of an OHC or SOHC engine is that it requires a timing belt or chain with related components, such as tensioners and guides to run the camshaft(s). This means higher production cost and more complex design. A timing belt needs to be replaced at regular intervals, typically every 60,000-120,000 miles, which adds to maintenance costs. A timing chain can last longer, but it is sensitive to regular maintenance: if engine oil is not changed regularly, a timing chain stretches and wears out.

I was amazed at the ground clearance of YBR125G, I thought it was an adventure bike. The clearance is exactly the same as YBR125, which is 145 mm. I was hoping for something in the 175-200 mm range. Suzuki GS150 has a clearance of 165 mm and it is not enough for Northern areas hilly tracks. Don't get me wrong, a Chinese 70 cc bikes can go to Devsai and Lake Saif ul Malook, but the riders have to be very careful. On GS150 I have to be careful but not that careful. How can anyone call a bike with a 145 mm clearance an 'Adventure Bike' or an off-road bike is beyond my comprehension. Maybe there are people who call riding on a pothole infested road an adventure, but on hilly tracks, specially after rain, one needs high ground clearance.

Anyways, since I will probably not see this bike until I visit Rawalpindi/Islamabad, I will appreciate if someone could take a close look at the bottom of the bike (under the engine) and put some light on the 'Engine Guard'.

The only and the biggest resaon I will encourage Yamaha on every platform is that they are investing on Pakistan and Pakistani, I strongly agree they are not targetting the masses who are under spell of AHL and Chona70s.

Now about this Bike my personal view is "Holly molly what the heck is this" it kind of a worse of to worlds, fron end of a trail and ground Clearance of a city bike I mean what is the over all gain = 0

Second = 10 Horse power, currently I am using 17Horse power trail and I still feel like using the lousiest trail when It comes to offroad.. Just imagine what will happen to this little thing when it will be pushed in real offroads..

Anyway good luck with this bike. This is the first of its kind in Pakistan, i hope it impresses people who actually do like to go on of road tours and push their machines to the maximum. @vickytulla

MT-125 is same as YBR just body type is change and a few goodies like Water Cooled engine.

You guys have got it COMPLETELY wrong.

YBR 125 Costs 4,000 Pound in United Kingdom.

Exactly the same thing costs us 1 lakh 30 thousand in pak. (Literally Exactly the same model features)

Do not compare international prices as Motorcycles are expensive in Europe.

MT-125 if launched it will be priced not more thn 1 lakh 50 thousand.

YBR 125G has impressed me very well. i wont mind buying it as i live in islamabad, i wont mind taking it off road in the mountains from time to time

Apparently in my opinion, this G version is similar to Sports version just like we have CG-125 vs CG Dream or Sprinter standard vs Raider. I agree there are certain differences in technical areas but as @IceCold and @vickytulla said this is not a pure off roader but a beautiful good looking and a changed looking bike.

Me to in the favor of MT.
and no matter what ppl r saying about our choice is right or wrong and about the price.
I dont understand why we get criticized when we bring some different ideas or suggestions...
Anyways my vote from 1st day is for MT and 2nd number is FZ 150cc.

No doubt Yamaha bring the 2nd product to fast.
But I will count YBR + G + Z in the same product category. same or similar engine with different body types.
The product change will be count when a blank change will show.

    The change will be
    MT
    FZ
    Tricity
    What you wish guys???

what point you want to make?? as i said MT 125 will be crap paying such price for 125 CC Water cooled engine and better shape that's it ?? why not wait for 150 CC fZ series which will be less than 2 Lac ... and believe me MT 125 porye pakistan main 100 units bi nai biknye in this price we are getting YBR cheaper but yes in international model it has EFI engine whereas in Pak we are getting Carburetor.

above all People are asking for base model as it been discussed many times it will be launched in early 2016 .. so Yamah is here with some plan my friends give them time YBR 125G whatever it is but at least after 3 months they launched 2nd model though i agree it does not make any sense but still it will be addition in their product line

P.S: MT 125 in 150K in your dreams only possible if No EFI No Water Cooled local parts ... may be than it can happen

UK YBR is GBP2600. It has UK VAT and other taxes included in price.

    Ref: YBR125 2014 - Motorcycles - Yamaha Motor UK

    YBR125 from ? 2,599.00

All prices include On-the-Road preparation charges, delivery to dealer, number plates, pre-delivery inspection, petrol and VAT at 20%. Government first registration fee and Vehicle Excise Duty is excluded and will be charged additionally at the prevailing rate.
UK YBR is not the same as Pak YBR. UK one is EFI, not carby YBR. Also, there is difference in features, fittings and quality (nearly all reduced/stripped away to decrease cost) as is usual with all Japanese assemblers in Pakistan.

Please stop spreading false information trying to portray Pak YBR as a steal compared to UK YBR. The products being compared are not the same.

Yamaha coming here and introducing YBR and its derivatives is a refreshing change and should be encouraged wholeheartedly. However, fanboys should refrain from spreading false information which will misguide others on PW and make them regret their future purchase due to built-up false expectations. It will be a disservice to Yamaha and their bike line up in Pakistan.

Shape is also a concern but i'm more concerned about hp, i was thinking about buying this ybr g model but talked to some guys about ybr and they told me it is underpowered you should stick with your gs150 which is better in power... Looking forward for a powerful engine by yamaha... this is a good looking bike but definitely not suggested for touring...
