Exclamation yamaha Ybr 125 break-in period

    AOA,
I'm confused about the running period of ybr. My friend says to "pura meter maro" two times in 500km. one after 150 and the other after 200-300km difference and drive the bike the way you like after 500km while the manual says to keep it under 6000rpm and 7500rpm under 500km and 1000km respectively. Normally i would have gone for manual method but i have seen a lot of yamaha ybr users complaining about the top speed which does not cross 90km/h. My friend said the same, if you do not do this your bike won't go to top speed. Now I'm confused, I don't want to ruin my bike. Can any other ybr user who have successfully done the break-in period tell me the correct method? so i will not be stuck at 90km/h. I have currently driven the bike 70km.
    Thanks.

Do as the manual says. Just dont get its carb opened at first tuning, cs if you do your bike wnt go beyond 90km.
'Pura meter marna taakay engine khul jaye' during the break in period is just a myth.

I read online, usually on pakwheels. That's why i was hoping that someone would share their break-in period experience.
(https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/yam...sing-90-km-h-4) he has driven the bike below 6000/7500

was this problem due to slow break-in or something else? did you by any chance open carb?

So i should drive my bike under limits provided by the manual and only rev it up to its max rpm after 1000km.

Haha, my previous bike was also pridor, It's very hard to control the urge . I might test the speed after 500km, it won't affect much then.

before 1st tunning bike was going to 100kms

And in first tune up mechanic opened carburetor without my permission

Bike's performance fell down and top speed to 90

What things i did for bringing back bike to original mode, you can't imagine

However carburetor was opened once without my permission and many times now with my permission

Fuel settings are done in carburetor

It's very sad to hear this, Where i bought the bike the guy said " Kudah ka lia agr koi masla ho to kisi gali ka mechanic ka pas na jana or carburetor to bilkul na kholna". Now i know what he meant. Anyways should i get my first tuning done by him or do you recommend any other shop?

    as you live in Lahore

many good mechanics are in Lahore

I myself went to Lahore to Sharif Autoes Mcleod road 2 times just for tune up

i don't know about Afzal Traders but some Pakwheelers with YBR from Lahore praise him

according to my personal experience you should try fast speed after 500 and when you go to Mechanic

ask him not to open carburetor,

and i am sure Amjad brother would have advised you to change first at 200 km

2nd oil change at 600km and then at first tune up at 1000 km

    i also strongly recommend this
