Guys I have seen you people hassling on these minor issues
The most important thing while selecting a bike is that buy the thing you like, I bought CD 100 last year many people told me that it isn’t a good bike but I liked it more than others so I got it. Although I am facing some problems still I can’ blame anybody coz its my own choice. And you should keep in mind all these brands are being assembled in Pakistan, anyone of these bikes may have a problem with it.

I have used most of the bikes available in our market, lets have a look on their merits and de-merits.

All two stroke bikes including Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki lack one thing engine compression. When you are on road compression of four stroke bike provides you more safety in case of an emergency stop. And four strokes are easy to handle. Second issue two stroke bikes are not ideal for long route their engines get hot and it starts de-accelerating. Give it a rest of half an hour and it will work like before. Four strokes on the other hand have heat controlling thermostat system, their engine gets maximum hot within 10 to 15 mins fast ride and after that it wont get more hot. And consequently wont de- accelerate.

Now coming to the comparison of different four strokes.

Lets see what is going on here.

Honda CD 70- has been a good economical bike, best for those who use their bikes within cities. Very good resale and engine is reliable. As far as its overall performance is concerned, Honda has dropped its standard considerably with its price in the last three four years. To me there is no point in spending 52 K on CD just for the sake of getting a Honda, Pak Hero, Star, and many other local brands are doing the same (consider their price)

    Yamaha Junoon or Yama 4

These are good bikes but weighs far less than other 100 110 CC category bikes, Junoon has got good looks, better resale than CD 100 and Sprinters, Beautiful Headlight Tail light and Indicators, and killing style. But the frame is Yamaha YB which is not so reliable. Tyres, shocks absorbers and handle is pretty much like YB 100. Low on mileage than Sprinters and CD 100.

And only one friend of mine has Junoon. He traveled from Lahore to Guj (a 66 KM ride) and its silencer busted. He had to change it.

    Sprinter Simple and ECO.

Although I do not like these bikes still have to admit that these are extra-ordinary efforts from Suzuki. Reliable, powerful and economical engines. Price is far less than any other 100 or 110 CC bikes. Their carburetors are made on advanced technology which our illiterate mechanics cant understand too soon. But guys it is a great advantage no one is Pakistan is using this technology. The only thing that beats sprinter is its looks Suzuki is using the same old frames ( nothing new in its design) and what I hate most is its tail light design (my God Suzuki has never been able to find a good tail light for their bikes) and the complaint of rear shock absorbers, (don’t know Suzuki have solved this problem or not, I saw this problem in 2003 sprinter, with two people riding its rear tyre hits the mud guard) like most new models its resale is also very low.

    CD 100

A good effort by Honda with its design, frame, engine and all things. Still this bike stands in a corner if you compare to other same category bikes. Someone needs style goes for junoon and one who needs economy goes to sprinters. Guess Honda will have to thing about this bike. It draw backs are non availability of spare parts, very low resale value and high price. If you are a hot racer its not for you. However on long route nothing of this category matches with the comfort and safety of this bike. More weight than all other same category bikes changed tyres for better grip, shock absorbers and comfortable seat are brilliant. No match with sprinters but still it gives me 58 – 59 within city.

    125 category.

There are only two competitors in this category Honda and Suzuki. Although I am a Honda fan still I find no excuse to prefer Honda CG 125 over GS 125, simply Suzuki has out witted Honda in this category, but wait guys there is Honda deluxe also available, these two bike will give each other tough time.
But don’t hurry to make a decision, if you want to keep a bike for a long time get Suzuki or Deluxe 125, and if you are in habit of switching bikes these two models will knock you out on resale. In that case get CG 125. Another thing that we forget is that this category is not fit for city racing. If you want to enjoy them take them out to long route. GS 125 and 125 Deluxe will stand out in road grip, safety and comfort. Suzuki has come up with an excellent whole new thing.

(What! sorry guys have no idea of Pak Hero 125)

    150 CC

Only bike that stands out in this category is Suzuki GS 150, again a marvelous effort. All new style from Frame Indicators to Mudguards wheels and Silencer amazing machine. Since there is no comparison there are no comments.

@adil_dar, very well done sir,a truly unbiased & honest opinion from your side, great.
Now at least I can hope that now some individuals don't try to present Suzuki Sprinter as a Superman bike here

thanks guys for your comments, i expected a lot of heat on my reply (when i criticized all the models and makes).

My point was to let others know what can happen to them if they select a model (pros and cons of companies). having these things in mind prepare us for the problems that we may face.

But its again amazing to see you comments about a specific model, , nothing can change your mind. Keep it up, but let me see does anyone of you have had courage to go to a company and let them have your comments as feedback? If not then there is no use of fighting with eachother on this forum. There is a positive thing to do. Make groups of similar bikes owners and if you all users of a bike are having a problem go to your company in a group and tell them about it. This might make them change their policies and improve their bikes.

We are all educated people here and there is no point in fighting with other users fight with the people who make these things.

We people in generall have a habit that we appreciate the thing we like and we forget about its minor faults or problems. Guys we pay for these machines and we ought to get perfection in return.

LETS TRY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

My first bike was cd 70, when i was 14, given to me by my big bro as a gift then the First bike i bought for myself at the time i was 16 was a YB- 100, after that have kept almost all the bikes available in Pakistan during the 90's.

Yamaha YB-100s ACCELERATION IS UNBEATABLE and there is No Doubts, i used to Pick it up (wheelie) in 2nd and 3rd Gears too, the Original YB-100 is nothing but a Accelerating Little machine.

About the Road Grip thing : It will throw you away and it is a Potent Killer, when it comes to Road Grip, NO ROAD GRIP AT ALL, RIDING A YB-100 IS LIKE FLYING IN THE AIR.
