Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. was founded in 1997. It is a globalized automobile brand located in China. Chery's design concept is to combine the spirit and dynamic water flow body shape, reflecting the natural dynamics and appeal of the streamlined new generation 2.0 HDS (Hydro-Dynamic Surfacing). HDS styling defines the concept of "vivid" and caters to young users, as well as those forward-thinking users.
The seven-seater mid-size crossover is soon to be launched in Pakistan. Chery Tiggo 8 will be manufactured and distributed in the Pakistani market by Gandhara Nissan in collaboration with Chery Automobile.
Chery Tiggo 8 Exterior
Chery Tiggo 8 comes with a sleek and bold design. It has blunt curves which are balanced by the sharp strokes on the exterior. The front grille gives the car a 3-D effect. The grille is accompanied by waterflow animation LED automatic headlamps while the rear end has traverse-type LED sooting tail lamps.
LED daytime running lights (DRLs) also accompany the headlamps. An 18-inch wheelbase and roof racks come as a standard feature in the car. The sides of the car have electrically adjustable side mirrors. A panoramic sunroof completes the outstanding look of the Tiggo 8.

The Tiggo 8 has a luxurious interior with leather-wrapped ergonomic seats. The driver’s seat can be adjusted in 6 different directions while the 2nd row seats in the seven seater can be adjusted in four directions. Other than that, the multi-functioning steering wheel is also adjustable and can be adjusted in 2 ways. The car also has dual-zone air conditioning.
A 7-inch colored cluster screen displays instrumental information for the driver. The steering wheel also has cruise control keys to make driving easier for the driver. The front fascia has a 10.25-inch infotainment screen which supports Apple CarPlay as well AndroidAuto. Bluetooth connectivity is another standard option in Tiggo 8 with 4 speakers which provide satisfactory audio experience.
The Chery Tiggo 8 comes with a smart key for convenience and several safety features. 4 airbags are standard in the vehicle with rear view camera and surround view mirror (SVM) 360 degrees. Front parking sensors help the driver in parking the car without hitting any curb while the auto hold feature keeps the car’s brakes in check.
Other modern safety features include anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), electronic stability program (ESP), emergency brake assist (EBA), Hill start assist control (HAC), hill descent control (HDC), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and electronic parking brake (EPB).

The Chery Tiggo 8 comes with a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder turbo engine which generates a power of 154/5500 hp/rpm at a torque of 210/1750-4000 Nm/rpm. Tiggo 8 further has a 6-speed DCT transmission.

The company claims that Tiggo 8 has an average fuel consumption from 10-15 km/l.
Chery Tiggo 8 Ride & Handling
The ride in Tiggo 8 is smooth and the handling is easy. The abundance of driver assist features make the experience convenient. The engine of Tiggo 8 is quite good but it lacks in sharpness. The 6-speed transmission is a bit sluggish which makes the response time greater and makes driving inconvenient.
Chery Tiggo 8 Maintenace
The maintenance of Tiggo 8 might be a bit difficult as it is the first car being launched by the company in the Pakistani market. Therefore, it will take some time for the mechanics to understand the car’s repair work. Its auto parts should be easily available as the car will be manufactured in Pakistan.
Chery Tiggo 8 Competitors
Chery Tigo 8 will be competing with DFSK Glory 580 pro, Kia Sorento, and Honda BR-V in the Pakistani market.
DFSK Glory Pro is although a new car in the local market, it offers several attractive features which are similar to that of Chery Tiggo 8 such as traction control, cruise control, hill start assist and other modern safety features. Tiggo also beats Glory when it comes to transmission with its modern DCT transmission.
Honda BR-V is another strong competition for Tiggo 8 as the company is a lot older than Chery and has a loyal consumer base. It also has several modern driver assist features and safety features which make t an attractive vehicle for the consumers. It beats Tiggo 8 when it comes to price as it offers same features with better handling and a well-established goodwill in a lesser price than Tiggo 8.
Kia Sorento on the other hand is a car with luxury options. It offers better performance and handling with a lot more features than the Tiggo 8.
