Toyota Allion entered the auto world in the year 2001. The vehicle is similar to Toyota Premio; however, Toyota Premio is a much more luxurious sedan. Toyota Allion is designed to look more youthful and sportier however Toyota Premio aims to give a classier look. The nameplate of the vehicle has a purpose, and it proves it pretty well. The name Allion is based on the phrase “All in one.”
The vehicle has two main generations where the first generation is between 2001-2006; the second generation starts from 2007 and is still under production. The first generation Toyota Allion was a replacement to Toyota Carina. It is seen that Toyota gave a facelift edition to Toyota Allion in early 2016.
Toyota Allion couldn't sow its seeds in the soil of Pakistani auto market, and Toyota Premio captured all the market. Although no one can deny that the Allion has an ultimate drive along with power and comfort still Premio was preferred all the way.
Toyota Allion is being offered in 1.5L, 1.8L and 2.0L. However, the most popular version was 1.5L followed by 1.8L. The first generation Toyota Allion 2.0L came with a CVT transmission however in the second generation all the variants had CVT automatic transmission.

The main competitors of the vehicle are Honda Civic and Toyota Altis in the local market. However while purchasing second hand, Toyota Allion people also have a choice of buying imported Toyota Corolla Axio and Toyota Premio. Toyota Premio is slightly expensive compared to Toyota Allion but it nautiluses the effect during the time of resale. However, one cannot deny that the vehicle is spacious, comfortable and much more powerful compared to Honda Civic and Toyota Altis.
Resale value of Toyota Allion is poor, and this is due to many factors. Toyota Premio and Toyota Allion entered the auto industry of Pakistan at the same time, and people preferred Toyota Premio obviously because of features and much luxurious look. Also, the newer model of Toyota Allion couldn't see the success as the price tag attached is extremely high and s not worth it. People now have a huge variety of cars while purchasing a vehicle, and they can shift from sedan to hatchback or mini SUV if the vehicle is good and provides value for money.
Comparing the two generations of Toyota Allion, it is true that the first generation was more popular as it entered the industry when there was no tough competition, and the price was competitive. The second generation couldn't perform well due to the high amount of competition in the industry along with inflated price tag.
