After Honda, Yamaha Also Hiked Bike Prices

After Atlas Honda celebrated the April’s Fool Day by increasing prices of its bikes, Yamaha has followed the suit. As per a notification, the company has hiked the prices of its three bikes up to Rs7,000.

The new prices would be implemented from April 2, 2021.

New Prices:

YBR 125G has seen a jump of Rs7,000 as its new rate is Rs197, 000 as compared to its old price Rs190, 000. Meanwhile, YB 125Z DX will now cost Rs182, 500 after seeing a hike of Rs7,000. The old price of this bike was Rs175,500.

Meanwhile, the company has increased the price of YB 125Z by Rs6,000 and set its new price at Rs169, 000 against its previous rate of Rs163, 000.

In the notification, the company has not given a reason for price hike. It seems that the companies have made a habit of increasing the price. Earlier, manufacturers had blamed rising dollar price for the jump in prices, however, the dollar rate is continuously dropping against Pakistani rupee. The dollar of price which was once Rs168, is now standing at Rs152.30. Despite, this massive fall, the prices are ever increasing.

Impact of COVID-19:

The only reason behind this price increase should be COVID-19 and its impact on imports of bike and car parts. Both international and local market has impacted by the coronavirus as the cost of containers have sky rocketed.
